me too, somebody summarize

Zion may not have been sick in Game 1. Possibly could have been personal issues and team covered by saying hes sick.

You know who had a real personal issue for game 1? Murray. Bro still showed up and played his heart out.

Anyone else starting to wonder if Zion has some mental health stuff going on?

Didn't they say a few years ago he was depressed?

Go talk to a therapist. Get the issue resolved. You had a whole offseason to get yourself straight mentally and physically. You’re a multimillionaire with the organization fully supporting you. I used to be a Zion apologist and I’m done. This is just getting absolutely ridiculous. Been more impressed with what BI is showing and how hard these young guys like Missi, Hawkins and Boston battle. Games have been fun to watch despite the losses. Give me this group and get the rest healthy and just play hard.

Or the team is covering for him.... Wouldn't be the first time.

It sounds like the team wants him to rest
Again, no matter if it was directed by the team or Zion, the messaging would be the same.

I agree. I can take losing a game when we play hard and just fall short for whatever reason. I can't take losing when it looks like we don't give a shite.

Again, I own multiple Zion shirts and shirseys, and nothing BI. I bought into Zion as our savior, so I get it. Getting past the denial stage is important.

Whats fair is fair. BI is playing the best basketball of his career. Zion can’t even show up. People talk shite about AD and CP3- but those guys showed up and won us playoff games. They gave us couple years of exciting basketball. In 6 years Zion gave us 40 points in a play-in game loss to the Lakers and then got hurt. That game is the microcosm of his career with Pels. Time to move on.

You still think money is a cure all to depression? Therapy is a sham. The problem is he’s the same kid he was from a small town in SC. He most likely lacks purpose, discipline, and drive. It’s easy to look at him like some alien cause he’s built like a freak but he’s just another human being. I think it’s a shame no one has any empathy for the man who has at least always said he wanted to be here, never tried to force his way to LeBron or any big market. But we have armchair psychoanalysts who know nothing about the man diagnosing him with everything under the sun. I know it’s not the best for the Pelicans’ title chances, but isn’t it possible he’s just a flawed young man (like everyone else) who hasn’t grown up yet? I don’t take it personally, I wish the best for him.

Its not if you actually dedicate yourself to change in being a better person.

Empathy in what regard? As a human being I hope he becomes a better person and more dedicated. As a basketball fan who is paying money to support this team to win- my concern lies with him showing up and winning basketball games. Hes not doing that. I feel more empathy towards a guy like Jonas than i do for Zion.

When Zion or the organization does not let the fans know why he isn’t showing up to play while representing the city of New Orleans- fans have the right to question that. Especially with inconsistent statements that make no sense. I get hes flawed but then he should give the money back, seek help to get better and be a better person. I doubt that will happen though.

Where were you when people were saying BI sucks and should be traded for nothing?

I'll just put this to bed. It was not a mental issue for Zion.

Think about the drama he went through over the past year or whatever and you can extrapolate the personal issue

Have no idea what that might be, and really don't care.
Deal with it and get back to work.

And if it is some family issue, why lie about it?
Same thing happened with Wiggins last year. They said it was private and wouldn't say what it was, and just supported him while he was out. shite happens in life. People will understand.

Because David Griffin thinks the nola fans are dumb and its better to lie than to be transparent. Again if they did lie and mistated why he’s out thats a pretty big issue. I feel lot of these communication issues are made worse by Griff.

If Zion gets whatever personal stuff worked out, then it will be very interesting to see what he looks like when we get Trey back on the floor, which should happen by the Monday Nets game at the latest.

Trey is the only guy on the team who really spaces the floor for Zion, because Trey will consistently shoot from well behind the line and has such a high release that he pulls his defender out away from any chance to help out on Zion.

Zion's camp has controlled how the Pelicans report his injuries and have maintained that control.

It wasn't the Pelicans' idea
