So how do we feel about Scottie Barnes?

Just curious, but let’s say there was a deal that swapped out Zion for Scottie Barnes. Just about to start a five year rookie extension, so under team control for a long while. He’s 23 years old. Plays defense, low maintenance, less injury risk. But yes you would have to give up Bucks draft capital. Just interested to know how eager some would be for that swap.

I'm not bailing out the Raptors. They screwed us on the Ingram deal. We should have gotten Barnes then, if we wanted him..

Barnes is waaay overpaid for what he brings.

That’s a hell no despite the Ingram/Zion reunion being hilarious.

There's no chance on earth that the Raptors trade Barnes straight up for Zion. Barnes is a stud.

Guys….Zion wouldn’t be going to the Raptors. In theory, this would be a part of a Giannis to the Raptors.

Yea, you should've made that more clear in the OP. It was obvious what you meant for those that follow trade rumors, but many on this board are out of the loop.
Barnes? Yes, he would be an awesome, no drama replacement centerpiece to pair with Trey. Here's the kicker though:
1) Bucks and no one else is taking on Zion with this recent scandal. Can you imagine the PR nightmare of them replacing a franchise legend like Giannis with an injury/professionalism risk like Zion? Still could happen with Z waived by Pels, then using another salary (CJ or Murray) outgoing.
2) If we give up the '27 MIL pick, it would have to be the best of the Pels or Bucks pick, with the worse one already owned by the Hawks. So that would leave Pels without any 1st in 2027, with a core of... Barnes, Murphy, Herb, Missi... how confident are we that that would be a playoff/ non-lotto roster in 2 seasons?
3) Do the Bucks even care about getting their '26 swap rights back at this point? They can look at the Pels' situation and say, "Well, we might be bad, but so will the Pelicans. We'll still get a good pick even with the swap." With the Zion disaster, the Murray injury, the rest of the roster lackluster and in flux-- it makes sense.

Scottie Barnes mis borderline retarded, but if we could somehow get him for Z or even Z, plus some change, that would be highway robbery at this point.
I like him as a player and I think he’s immature, but harmless as a human. Wouldn’t mind rooting for him.

Nobody wants the Fat slob bust. He is worthless as a trade asset right now
Posted on 6/3/25 at 8:19 am to PUB
Then why waive or rid him now. It does nothing to benefit us.

Our fans and front office screwed us on the Ingram deal. You can't blame Toronto for allowing our own stupidity to get the better of us.

He's way less retarded than ZIon.

Because he has sucked the life out of the franchise for 6 years.

It opens cap space and gets a lazy dumbass out of the locker room so he can't poison our chemistry further.

For sure, now we are getting somewhere. I think Milwaukee would want Barnes though.

I really like this in theory, but that Pels squad would not be fun to watch. Who is gonna score? Whatever. If I could waive a magic wand I would make this happen.
