He was supposed to be our starting center but now he can’t get run even when half our team is hurt, 5 mins last night.

I’m not saying he should play more, Missi is clearly outplaying him gets better every rep.

We do know who Theis is, he’s never been a huge game changing center, he’s also a decent NBA player that can help a team win in the right role. So if we aren’t going to play him, can we trade him?

The minimum salary undersized center that lost his backup role in Indiana and LAC was never supposed to be our starting center.

We are a tax team. He makes minimum money.
Trade him for what? He has no value.

Theis is a guy who will be better when he is surrounded by talent and can just focus on doing the small things that contribute to winning. He’ll actually help more when all of our talent is back. No reason he can’t contribute 15 or so solid minutes on certain nights.

As for trades do you think there is a line of teams interested in trading for him??

Nothing wrong with a vet role player who can give you decent minutes when you need it, but is also OK with not playing when we don’t need him.

Missi making the strides he is makes Theis kind of ideal. A backup on a cheap contract that can give you quality minutes if you need them. Would make zero sense to move on from him.

1 more rebound from Missi last night and my $5 parlay would have hit $105

parlays are so frustrating, but i dont care, they are still fun to play

I had a $10 parlay last night to win $130
Tatum 30+ points
Harden and PG 20+ points each
Cavs -7

Harden and PG each had 18 points with 10 minutes left in the game, and neither took another shot, and since Maxey got hurt and didn't play, the game got out of hand and PG never came back in at the 5ish minute mark b/c they were down 20+.

He was literally our starting center until Missi beat him out a few games ago, no one expected that so fast. He was definitely supposed to be our starting center.

This is like the 3rd time you've told us about a failed parlay. It's really scintillating stuff. How are your fantasy teams doing? Can you take us hole by hole on your last round of golf?

3rd? I think you’ve missed a couple.

I feel like you have completely lost perspective on the situation. Imagine several years ago saying "Why aren't we playing Alexis Ajinca more? He's supposed to be our starting center."

Also, I believe Theis has been playing through a nagging injury. But the real question isn't why isn't Theis playing more, but why is JRE playing so much?

Theis is who we thought he was going to be. Missi is not. There is no one on this board or the people who drafted him who thought he would be this good, this fast. Theis has some moments but in the end- hes an end of roster guy on most teams. Missi is just so much better than anyone anticipated that even for a coach like Willie he has to play him over Theis. Unfortunately Willie still thinks JRE deserves more minutes than Missi- this is a separate issue.

Any team in the league could have picked him up for nothing, why would anyone trade for him?

I'm not worried about Missi's minutes. I think a lot will change when we get healthy. Missi, Theis, and Trey/Herb playing small ball center will work itself out. As long as JRE is out of the rotation when we start to have options, we'll be in good enough shape.

You’re probably right. I think Trey would take a lot of these JRE minutes. I also think when we’re fully healthy, I wouldn’t be surprised if Theis is out of the rotation or playing very few minutes. His foot speed is horrendously bad and he misses some really easy bunnies near the basket.

That's b/c our GM failed this offseason.

Theis isn't supposed to be any NBA teams starting center.

I mean to be fair he did draft Missi- who looks ridiculously good. They might have lucked into how good he is though lol.

Fantasy is stupid.
You want me to video my next round of golf and you can watch it on youtube?

I guess I'm not sure what you're looking for in this thread.

He was supposed to be our starter, but Missi seems to have developed into a dude who can get minutes wayyyyyyy quicker than anyone thought he would.

That's a good thing.

So, I don't really get your OP which seems like it's a negative thing, almost like you want him to be starting?

I'm just not following what your thoughts for this thread actually are.

Also, he's a minimum salary dude, not sure what value you think he has, but he has virtually none, so not sure what you think we can get in a trade for him.

I guess my question is if we can’t get him in the lineup, can we do anything to use his value? Package him with someone, flip him for someone more helpful?

I’m saying he is an NBA caliber player so maybe we can do SOMETHING to get value out of him. Maybe play him more the JRE?
