Should Frank be retained?

Frank is an average player at best, but he is a culture guy. Every night he is the first one off the bench giving high fives and little shite like that. Not to mention all the community stuff he does.

For all these reasons I feel like he should be extended. Plus he’s a really solid shooter most nights and plays harder than anyone (except maybe hart).

Anyway, what’s everyone’s opinion on Frank? I see a lot of slander in the game threads many nights. He has a 2 mil team option. What do y’all say?

I wouldn’t be upset by it. Especially if he’s cheap. He has his nights of playing well and has improved each year. Can develop into a solid bench player hopefully if he keeps improving

Frank's defense is turning into Jrue lite

2 mil option pick it up.

I would even see if he would take a 3 year 6 mil deal

Just a couple of weeks ago, I'd have said that Frank has been given chance after chance to prove himself, and he's come up empty.

But, during the last couple of weeks, he's looked like a very solid role player. If he keeps playing well, then we'd definitely want him back.

Frank is probably looking at a best case scenario of a journeyman career like E'Tuwan Moore, Austin Rivers or Jerryd Bayless. Those guys take years to develop into useful players, but we have the rosters spots and guard depth to be patient.

i don’t think it matters whether frank is retained or not in the big picture. If they decline his option though someone will grab him

it will depend on whether they need his roster spot

remember they have at least one draft pick incoming

Been surprised at his defense, but not that surprised since Jrue is his mentor

There are some nights when there’s no doubt that he looks like a keeper.

He’s going to develop and get better. I’m not convinced he’s going to be a star, but I’d like keep him to see how how he develops.

I wouldn't compare him to Jrue or even a lesser version. He's defended well recently, but it's related to how hard he tries and how much effort he gives.

Jrue is an insanely smart and talented defender, where it seems effortless. Frank is just an energy guy that overwhelms people with effort, which is not a bad thing. Just not compared to Jrue

Jrue is also 29 years old and has seen everything any offensive player can send at him.

The hustle and energy early in your career on that end of the floor is what gets you to Jrue level when you're 26+.

It's great to see a young guy that lives playing defense

Frank is an RFA. The $2M is not an option it’s his QO. I think we will probably retain Frank and let E’Twaun go.

He’s developing into an all around player. Resigning him to see if he can put it all together is a no brainer. He looks like one of those guys who will put it all together in the third year of playing.

If he's cheap enough and we don't need those assets to go elsewhere, I don't mind him being filling the Kendrick Perkin's high five role.

In a vacuum I wouldn’t mind keeping him. But it’s hard for me not to think his minutes are hindering NAWs development.

I definitely want to see NAW get more minutes for sure.

NAW's development would cost us games, something we can't afford

its def. dependent on salary. 31% 3pt % can’t work off the bench. Need good shooters to keep the pressure on at the end of quarters and when starters miss a game or two from injury.

He isn’t going to cost anything significant to keep.
