We all know that it's a business, but if you trade Herbert, a lot of checked out fans are really gonna check out.
No doubt just about every Pelican's fan luvs Herb...but like you say...it's a business. So, since nobody on the Pels is untouchable...how many 1st round picks would it take, over the next 2 years...for the Pels to feel justified in trading Herb? How about 2? Or 3? Or 4? (Suppose to be a VERY strong draft for the next 2 years)
Just trying to point out there's a price for ANYBODY. And I think we all know the Pels are tanking this year...and will probably be rebuilding over the next coupla years. I would hate to see Herb go...but alas...you can never say never.

I can't think of anything. It would have to be outrageous, something no one would ever offer.
He's just worth more to us than he would be to other teams
But I can see a world where Herb is moved for a better player, and he's one of the sticking points that the other team won't make a deal without.
Jose is almost harder to trade in the sense that...I don't see him ever as the absolute last sticking point on a deal, so I don't know why we'd throw him into a deal as he just has more value to us than his contract. All he does is win minutes.

quote:Well, the lottery is done in front of all 30 teams, so explain how exactly that would work...
I think the NBA would step in if the Pelicans got the 1st pick and redo the lottery behind closed doors.

I heard someone call this a "gap year." It could be a good thing if it works.
On the other hand, if you're GSW and your #3 overall pick is James Wiseman, then your gap year can actually make your team worse and close a championship window.

Fans always talk about it, like imagine if you had a "gap year" for a team like Giannis and Milwaukee (if they had owned their pick)
You know he's a star, but guys are old - you won't beat the likes of Boston without some new help.

Unfortunately with the way this franchise is run and our luck, this is more likely to be a “gape” year

I don't know BB or the nba but I know Herb is the last person I let go.

What did he do last night?
He played 35 minutes, had 7 points. Didn't shoot that great. We barely lost, so we could have used more offense. Was his defense that impact full? Who was he locking down?

He would be the first person to go
