To be fair, it's also how he conducts himself as well.

That is true, he is an unrepentant a-hole
But he was also right
But he was also right

There are people hinting on twitter that the entire league has been laughing their asses off about this for awhile and everyone is absolutely clowning on us

Gayle and Mickey prob high fiving each other like I can’t believe we got our guy.

I think basically they just don't want to go outside their circle again.
They believe in Graham and want someone they feel comfortable with to be a figurehead and stabilizing force, while Graham does the actual work.
They don't care that much about winning at all, they just want to appear to be stabilizing and they want a friend in charge

If anybody was wondering about Dumars philosophy on building a championship roster, its to find scorers. Not necessarily shooters.
To play devils advocate (I am no fan of the Dumars hire, I want to throw up) he isn't exactly wrong. The top 5 guys in the league currently would all be described more as scorers than shooters.
Joker, SGA, Giannis, Ant, Lebron/Luka, Tatum
The key is getting that guy who can score (hunt fouls) and surround him with shooting and defense. Which, ironically, we have in Zion whom the same ownership group just apparently mandated we trade which brings me back to throwing up.
It just sucks that the generational scoring talent we lucked into turned out to be an unreliable and unserious basketball player.

Listening to the Boot Krewe podcast from last night and it’s incredibly depressing
McNamara came on and gave some insight into ownership.
Basically says Gayle doesn’t care about the Pels, she will never pay the tax, the whole “she will pay the tax if the team is good” narrative is completely false, she won’t pay it now and won’t pay it in the future

He said on the podcast his connection was through the family of Jeff Bower. Don't think Jeff Bower ever worked for Gayle...... Although I'm sure he still had very loose vines for a few years after Jeff Bowers.

We will NEVER have a 'generational talent' show up to NOLA and play to his potential. That's why I'm confused why people are hoping we luck into Flagg.. He will come here and sit out due to minor injuries, etc..
The Pelicans need to find a small-school hero like Ja Morant or unearth a European star. That's the only type of player who will fully succeed here.

All better shooters than Zion by a considerable margin, even Luka. None of those guys lack a jumper entirely.
ETA - Joker is tall enough to shoot set shots, too

Chris Paul was not a universally accepted 'generational talent' coming out of college..
Anthony Davis and Zion were crowned as such before ever playing a minute on an NBA court, and neither lived up to that hype as a Pelican
