I don't think an unrepresented BI has the personality to directly "demand" a trade on his own so my guess is that he's shared that he's not resigning. Effectively like a trade demand just without force behind it.

I don’t see that as a crazy thing especially since Klutch represents Dejounte. Shamit tried making it more than it is.
I forgot about Murray being with Klutch.
Murray probably in BI’s ear telling him Rich Paul can get him signed or traded. Hopefully if he re-signs Murray talks BI into taking a team friendly deal like he does.

Sign with Klutch and trade him to the Lakers. Russell, Rui and Reddish for BI and Theis, providing us a 2029 first and maybe Lakers seconds. Use the Lakers seconds and add a third team to cut salary a bit. No it’s not great but probably where we’re at and our 2025 pick is the most important part of this convo.

Imagine if your Griff feeling like you won the AD trade because you got Lakers to toss in BI and years later you give BI back for scraps. Damn that would suck.

IMO the potential trade partners would be:
Lakers
Heat
Pistons
Kings
Warriors
Cavs
Rockets
Nobody else will really have the need or the salary to trade for him. If Detroit keeps up their play in push I could see Trajan being willing to part with a couple pick to get BI, add in the salaries of THJ and Stewart to make the money work, throw in Theis and we are under the tax.
Or if we’re doing a lakers deal, as mentioned above BI and Theis for Russel, Rui and Reddish with 29 pick and 2nds. Route Russel to Utah for Clarkson and that gets us out the tax. We could cut Reddish later in the season or trade him at the deadline to a team that may need a minimum salary guy so that we can convert Boston.

Getting to use Brandon Ingram for five years and then giving him back and getting more picks would be quite the landslide.

What was the point of that though? Im pretty sure this is not what Griff imagined when he got BI and the next 5 years. Hes basically resetting the team because BI never hit the ceiling Griff projected. Theres no way you can pivot that as win for Griff. You just wasted 5 years trying to get BI to work.

I’m sure he imagined he was getting an all star caliber player to pair up with his generational talent Zion. Lmao man…the pelicans

I honestly don’t even know where you are trying to go with this. He got five great years from BI. Now BI is going to be a FA and he’s likely to try and get the most he can. Regardless of the team. All of this for an AD that was leaving. I’m not going to go back and forth for pages on an easy discussion.

Ummm ok??! You’re right, end of discussion if you think BI had “five GREAT years” with the pelicans lol.

All I was saying at the time it was a good trade for Griff. But the misuse of the assets and development of players afterwards- makes you second guess it. The whole point is if BI turned into what Griff expected of him- the pels would have signed him to a max. Theres no positive spin here for Griff on this.

I would call BS on this, but I think the non-existent trade market for BI will do it for me.

Still Klowns Korner around part of the board and media I see.Five years of trying to make Zion something he hasn’t wanted to be and projecting their disappointment on BI. Give me the number of 23 5 and 5 players over the past 5 years and then talk. BI may or may not be gone but for sure wasn’t gaslighting the fans about wanting to be in NOLA.

Both suck. Trade both. It’s pretty simple. This franchise is dying. The rebuild is going to happen within the next year or two regardless. Do it now while our record is already arse with a good draft class

Yep.

I wonder if BI is demanding an extension and if he doesn’t get it- time to request a trade

There are no circumstances here highly sought after players have virtually no market.

Exactly, you have to trade BI, Zion, and CJ at this point. It makes zero sense to keep them

If the situation really is BI forcing his way out , I see it as a positive . It will force Gayle , griff, etc to take action as opposed to just waiting to be healthy .
