Parsons and Asik for Anderson would be great for both sides

Is Parsons a great player or a great value? Because his great value will only last 2 more seasons. If we traded for him is it a 2 year rental because we won't be able to afford to keep him or are we trading for a guy in the Dorell Wright/Martel Webster tier that's making $1m instead of $3-$5m?

If he keeps up the production he would be worth resigning to much more.
Bird rights.

Great value + potential to be a great player IMO. He has shown flashes of greatness in his young career.

Houston Rockets center Omer Asik has formally asked the team to trade him in the wake of the team landing Dwight Howard in free agency. But the Rockets have no plans to grant Asik's wish, sources told ESPN.com.
While many Rockets players rejoiced at landing Howard last week and spread cheer on their Twitter accounts, Asik had a different reaction.
After starting all 82 games for the Rockets last season and averaging 10.1 points, 11.7 rebounds and 1.1 blocks, Asik was not happy about his playing time and role being diminished. Both Howard and Asik are true centers and in most situations, it would seem playing them together would be challenging.
Shortly after Howard announced his decision, Asik was in contact with the team and asked to be moved. The Rockets, however, have turned away offers thus far and will continue to do so, sources said.
On Sunday at the Orlando Pro Summer League, Rockets' coach Kevin McHale said the team will try to mend fences with Asik.
"With Omer, he had a great year for us last year and really became one of the top centers in the league," McHale said. "It's just when you have an opportunity to get Dwight, it's hard not to. I'm sure Omer right now is a little down in the dumps, but we'll pick him up."
McHale said he can see lineups when Asik and Howard would play together in addition to Asik, who along with Howard would create perhaps the best defensive and rebounding rotation in the league, backing Howard up. McHale called to mind the 1980s when the Rockets used lineups with Hakeem Olajuwon and Ralph Sampson.
"You do play two bigs," McHale said. "You have to get spacing and you have to make sure your small guys have got to make sure they keep the court spaced."
Information from ESPN.com's Michael Wallace was used in this report.

According to this, he was worth $10million last year.

Hes already better than Webster/Wright. Parsons is a swiss army knife type- good at just about eveverything but great at nothing. I imagine he would get an Anderson type deal on the open market.

nope. dude is horrible at everything not under the rim. no face game, dribble, shot, ft, drawing other defenders from the rim.........! they have two strict centers there.

There's not a chance in hell we get Parsons
I wonder why were not interested in ASIK?

We gave up 115 points per 100 possessions last year with Anderson and Davis on the court together. I just feel like Anderson is kind of a distraction that we have to find ways to fit into the lineup.

McHale just pulled a Dell by saying they aren't shopping Asik. This is all posturing, and it convinces me further that the Rockets need to pay dearly for Ryno, or hope their run without him is successful, and Asik and DH12 don't become a problem.

If we get Asik, the only thing we really got to teach him is the pnr and how to use his hands to catch balls better. Him and AD catching lobs will be awesome. It be pretty hard though because in Houston, the best thing about Lin is he so good at the pnr. Hopefully Monty can teach Asik it we do get him

That article about the Rockets not wanting to move Asik is pure posturing.
They know they can't play him and Howard together successfully (spacing nightmare and no offensive variety at all), and they know Asiks salary is higher than they would like it to be for a guy who is now a backup by default. He also has significant trade value.
The rockets just don't want to appear overly eager to make a deal. They are absolutely bluffing.
