holy shite AD.

You can say that again! This is one screwed up in the headcase cat! He can GTF out of here! What we're looking at is the next KD. Will be hated in the league and will get cheered as well when he goes down with an injury, and he will!

It's amazing how shortsighted RP is. He makes this Celtics statement thinking it gives the Lakers more leverage, but he's done the opposite. If I'm the Pels FO I take any other package that's close to the Lakers before I take theirs. They will now have to blow other offers out of the water to land him. Maybe RP being an idiot is actually an advantage.

How does this give the Celtics leverage?

He didn’t give the Celtics leverage but he sure took it away from the Lakers.

If two similar deals were presented and one was from the Lakers, the other one would get chosen. The Lakers have to clearly beat any other offer to win now, not just be about equal.

Just goes to show just how stupid people are on the internet. I'm listening to people say they are proud that Rich Paul is taking control of player's situations. Where I come from, you don't respect dishonorable acts, even if it benefits you directly because the gun can be turned on you. But of course, everybody knows what's best for other people, but somehow they can't do that for themselves.

If Pels value another trade being equal (from anyone else) to LAL package in value, I’m pretty sure screwing the Lakers and AD would factor into the decision. So yeah I think RP hurt the LAL’s chances of getting AD with him talking tough about a Celtics trade.

Honestly I’m ok with that.

All the GMs know that AD cannot go to LA as a FA without taking a huge pay cut. The Lakers know they can't sit on their hands this year, so they are going to sign one of the big FAs if they strike out. Rich Paul knows this as well, which is why he is so desperate to get AD to the Lakers now.

It is now or never for LA unless AD is an even bigger idiot than we think and pulls a Boogie next year.

Getting Beal, Kuzma, and pick #9 is a good haul for a player in his last year who has said he will play for either the Knicks or the Lakers in 2020.

Let's look at some stars traded in their prime. The Pelicans trade with the Lakers would be very good for them.

Better than what the Sixers got for Barkley
Better than what the Wizards got for Webber
Better than what the Lakers got for Shaq
Better than what the Magic got for Howard
Better than what the Pacers got for George
Better than what the Spurs got for Leonard

The team trading a superstar never wins the trade.

There are other ways to make money outside of an NBA contract. That won't be an issue stopping AD from going to LA or New York.

The opposite of giving the Lakers more leverage is giving the Lakers less leverage.

Your pathetic attempts to try and sell us on your teams shitty offers are hilarious. Go to a freaking Lakers board and spew your stupidity.

Ainge doesnt play ball that way. Remember, Garnett refused to play for Boston as well.

And the trade with Boston was off. Remember, that trade only happened when KG changed his mind once Ainge got Ray Allen on draft day. KG told Ainge he would sign an extension, and the teams pulled the trigger.
