We can make moves with similar (possibly better) impacts than Trae this offseason while maintaining the pick war chest (and CJ's contract) for that elite guy to finish the roster.

Yes some mythical elite guy that MIGHT ask out and wants to come here.

Then we set our ceiling well below title contention and may be closer to playoff-contention if we use the war chest to get him

This is strictly based on your opinion that you think Trae is not an elite basketball player. There are many people on here and other NBA experts that differ with you on this.

Let's hear that hypothetical

Murray or Garland this offseason. Both are very depressed assets and are likely available. If it takes this years 1, that's fine.

Then we have CJ, all the rest of the war chest, and Herb (for a super elite guy) or Dyson, Hawk, etc. as young assets (for just an elite guy).

This might make sense. But who are your super elite/elites that are attainable?

That warchest is basically depleted. The best asset might be the 2025 lakers pick and with Bron coming back it won’t be that great. And again you’re assuming an elite guy wants to play here. Donovan mitchell, pg and butler are elite players that are available. Despite our assets do any of them seem attainable?

We still have our own picks and swaps.

Lebron is going to be 40 next year. I’m not sure how he will hold up tbh.

This may be our last chance to use the infamous "warchest" in an attempt to get a difference maker.

Well, we don’t know that he is. But why is anyone available? Because the team wasn’t good enough. Why was AD available, why was Jrue available three times? Etc

But it Young is this super elite guy who isn't demanding out why deal him?

They can clearly get top draft picks with him on the team so that should not be a hindrance

Bridges wasn't available until he was traded. Not that he's the guy we need, but this shite doesn't always play out through months of Woj tweets.

Most people agree that he isn't elite. You thinking he is elite makes you the outlier, not us.

Well, they haven’t. But if they did, is your stance that no elite player is ever traded?

If we’re finally actually on the destination list of one of these guys we should probably go get him

Will better players demand trades? Of course. Will we likely be on their list and have the things the team wants to get a deal done? Unlikely..

You take a swing on Trae and if it fails this regime is done. So we kind of win either way

You, SFP, and Jester are not most people. Majority of local pels media, good group of people on this board and other national media would disagree with you.

You three are definitely the outliers. Considering you and Jester might be the same person- I would say two people.
