Interesting thing to point out: we will have two open roster spots.

Hmmm

I complained about Salmons only getting $2 million as soon as he signed. They underfunded the trade chip and had to throw Russ away in the process. To be fair to Demps I think he was up against a $75 million payroll limit imposed from the top (my speculation but the numbers add up and make leaving $700k worth of trade chip on the table make some sense).

So Memphis gets Greene's.... and we get Q Pon? Is there a particular reason we couldn't deal with Boston directly?

The biggest reason why this wouldn't work is because the player we acquired has never been a part of Boston's roster.

Haha ok, I worded that wrong. What I mean is: why couldn't we trade with Boston for Green? If all they are getting is salmons and Prince, couldn't we have offered a similar package by ourselves? Why is Memphis getting the quality player instead of us?

Because we don't have what Boston wants.

Ahh ok, I thought it was just salmons and Prince. Oh well. Hope Q Pon finds a role.

QPon back to Pels David Fisher just wrote about QPons impact on our cap.
Not sure where he gets our cap value for next year unless he is assuming a contract value for Asik.

That's not an assumption, that's Asik's cap hold, 150% of his previous cap number. His cap hold won't come off the cap unless we sign him to something different or we renounce our rights to him.

This summer the Pelicans had zero cap space. None.

This is the part that's incorrect, or at least not considering some widely discussed options. They could create between $9 and $12 million by stretching Gordon, signing Asik for less than $12 and not bringing Rivers back.

Yep. His brother is going to have to add another twitter account to handle his own rage.

I actually like the idea of QPon coming back. He has value.

A Tyreke Evans, Quincy Pondexter, Luke Babbitt, Ryan Anderson, and Alexis Ajinca bench is actually decent.

It actually has a decent bit of spacing. I'm not entirely enthusiastic since I think we all wanted Jeff green but qpon is a nice role player.

agreed suddenly we have a lot more flexibility in our lineup with the qpon addition and tyreke coming off the bench

honestly id like to see qpon starting and cunningham play with tyreke bc it seems like at this point cunningham can space a little better than qpon

and even though quincy isn't the 3&D guy we want he can at least play defense...if only we could add Babbitts shooting stroke to quincy we'd have one pretty darn good SF

the first team tonight is an unselfish bunch, which plays perfectly for AD. The second unit, with that spacing is perfect for Tyreke. This was a nice move for absolute garbage in Salmons. The contract is easily moved if it doesn't work.
