Pro - We need a player like him desperately. All year, I was saying we needed a shooter. I'd have settled for a catch and shoot guy. But the fact that this kid can run off screens is a bonus.

Con - Upside is limited. Like this fills a huge need but I'm not sure how good he can ultimately be.

Definitely a "safe" pick in that he's not going to bust.

Based on what we know now about Whitmore, I'm more inclined to be ok with it. I wish we had a shot at Dick but we didn't. Not a Bufkin guy. So it was either this or trade back.

We just drafted Malik Beasley at beasely at best at 14. You could trade for someone much better than beasely with 14

Not even remotely the same type of player.

You've been hating on Hawkins for months. It's hilarious to see them take the guy.

Will that "someone better" cost $3 million?

This is how Trey was described a year ago ..

Now he's a shooter, nearly won the dunk contest, doing live commentary on draft night, and cost controlled for years

He fricking sucks and shows Griff's pattern of being a complete pussy. This is more of an indictment of Griff as a GM than Hawkins. Griff is the guy who is afraid of walking up to the hot girl at the bar because he might be rejected. I don't want that kind of pussy as a GM

Can’t think of a better mentor for Hawkings’ game than CJ McCollum

You're melting and being really emotional about this. They need spacing. They got spacing. It's the 14th pick. It's not that serious.

Hawkins can't dribble and can barely pass the ball without turning it over

Trey can't dribble. But he can attack close out. Sounds familiar?

Hawkins has a very low turnover rate.

1.3 assists and 1.4 tunovers

And you're flipping out because of this because we didn't take a guy that averaged 0.7 assists and 1.6 turnovers.

He makes 39% of his shots from deep on nearly 8 attempts and just won a national title too.

His highlights are just filled with 3’s coming off off-ball motion and step back’s. Looked a lot like a dude CJ could help

Almost 50% on catch and shoot 3s. This is with high projectable volume as well.

Big Con - he does nothing but shoot.

Griff is going to run it back and get fired next season.

If you're trying to fill a need then trade the pick for a known commodity that can fill that need. Otherwise have the balls to take a swing.
