Mine:

1) Paolo Banchero - admittedly not the easiest fit with Zion or BI, but the size, athleticism, handle, playmaking, shooting upside is to much to pass up. Plus I don't worry about need, especially in the top 4-5.

2) Jabari Smith - shooting from the outside and top level versatility on defense, though the question marks surrounding his ability to create for himself and others is what keeps him from being #1

3) Chet Holmgren - the shotblocking and rim defense is the big thing with him, though I worry he's a bit of a jack of all trades master of none type of guy. He's a better playmaker than Jabari, but may be a bit of a stationary playmaker. Assertiveness?

4) Jaden Ivey - explosive first step and leaper, but has no mid range or push game and what kind of shooter is he really? Shot 25.8% as a Freshman and 29.6% over the second half of his Sophomore season. He's more of an athletic combo than Ja Morant. Bad on ball and off ball defender, but how does that improve when he doesn't have to take on such a load scoring?

5) Shaeden Sharpe - honestly tempted to put him at #4, but just don't know enough about him. But has all the tools to be the best player in this draft.

6) Keegan Murray - I've been going back and forth on keeping him here, starting to question the lateral speed to compete defensively on the perimeter, but ultimately trust the hustle, IQ, and instincts. One of my favorite scorers though, kind of guy that at the end of the game you'll see he had 22 and you'll ask "when?"

7) Jeremy Sochan - the defense is too good for me to put him lower than this. 6'9 and 230, could potentially defend all 5 positions at a high level. Elite on ball and off ball. Can lock down the opponents best perimeter player or defend the rim. Very fundamentally sound, even on the boards, and can take it and run. Fluid ball handler and playmaker. Jumper and free throw shooting, which he has shown little of either, are the biggest swing factors in this draft.

8) AJ Griffin - this placement is completely dependent on the medicals, which we as fans obviously won't have. Arguably the best shooter in this draft, can score in a variety of ways with or without the ball. Quick decision maker and has shown he can get others involved. Has all the tools and mindset to be a great defender. I believe teaching proper fundamentals defensively will open up an all new ceiling for him as a defender.

9) Johnny Davis - kind of similar to Sochan, I was super impressed with him defensively and I feel like not a lot of people talked about it. I do question the switchability though, may be more of a just wing defender. I rank him above Mathurin because I think he will develop that outside shot. With the outside shot he can do to much, between the midrange game, the finishing with either hand (maybe the best use of both hands in this draft), and passing ability. He's not a primary ball handler but with the complete package offensively he's definitely a secondary

10) Benedict Mathurin - defense, mostly his motor on that end, concerns me. He had flashes but he's not always locked in. Kind of reminds me of Lonzo on that end, really bad at fighting through screens. But has all the tools to be a good defender. Shooting is obviously well known, though I'm curious to see how the shooting off the dribble improves. A bit to careless with the ball for my liking. Gonna be a guy that's frustrating with how loose he is with the ball.

Honorable mentions: Dyson Daniels (you could convince me to put him as high as 8 or 9), Malaki Branham, Jalen Duren, Ousmane Dieng

You always put a lot of effort into this, how would you say your accuracy is? I don't mean guessing who gets drafted where, but what kind of player they become and what their impact will be.

I feel like I'm generally pretty good at it, but I miss on a lot of guys as well. Personally I think a lot of it just comes back to as fans we don't get to actually know these guys.

One example I'll give is I didn't really like Anthony Edwards coming out, I thought he was insanely talented but I thought he was lacking up top some, if you know what I mean. I thought he would put up empty numbers on some bad teams, and wouldn't ever really account for much more than that. But from the outside looking in now, the guy seems very engaged and really has a drive to win. I also really didn't like Wiseman, I had him somewhere between 7 and 9 based soley on his potential, but the jury is obviously still out there.

But I loved Tyrese Maxey and Desmond Bane. I want to say my last big board I had Maxey at 7/8 and I had Bane at 11/12. I still have no clue why those guys went 21 and 30, they were clearly really really good players.

If we stay at 8 or drop to 9, I want Dyson Daniels. We could immediately use another long versatile guard, he reminds me of Herb, long wingspan and a good play maker. Plus he’s already been a pro in the GLeague and we know that pays dividends looking at studs like LaMelo and Josh Giddey

I like Daniels a lot as well. He's one of the guys I'm the most sure of he'll have a long successful NBA career because he's such a good all around prospect. My comparison for him is Derrick White.

I may not agree with your placement of Ivey, but I can definitely respect it. He has a lot of holes in his game. But the things he's good at stand out so much I think they kind of cover up the holes.

I appreciate the time and effort you put into this and I agree with the majority of it. But one thing stuck out so much, I gotta touch on it..

AJ Griffin- Has all the tools and mindset to be a great defender.

This is just blatantly not true. The dude moves like he has concrete in his sneakers. I've seen countless plays broke down, where AJ actually made the right read and tried to stay with his man, only for the offensive player to blow by him with ease. AJ just lacks the lateral quickness to ever be a plus defender on the perimeter. This and his injury history are the main two red flags, although his shot is hard for me to trust as well, even with an elite percentage from three this year.

My top 10 would be:
1. Jabari Smith
2. Chet
3. Paolo
4. Ivey
5. Sharpe
6. Murray
7. Mathurin
8. Daniels
9. Davis
10. Sochan

I would add this list is from the Pels perspective. I would have Ivey higher up for a team like the Rockets or OKC.

Also think the IDEA of Ivey is better than the actual prospect. Ive watched too many games of his where he just runs directly into 2+ defenders in the paint and chucks some half arse shot up.

That mixed with his complete lack of midrange (20% IIRC) and questions surrounding his 3 ball make him a no-go for the Pels.

But I see the upside for sure.

While I would disagree that he moves like he has concrete in his shoes (I've seen this said multiple times, and while he surely doesn't have the quickest feet, this is a gross exaggeration), did you read the rest of what I wrote regarding him? Part of Griffin's issue laterally is his form is terrible, but it's something that's fixable.

That's what we as fans NEVER do for some reason, aside from shooting. Look at issues, and try and decide if it's something that's fixable or not? And if it is, how easily fixable? This is true with the way Griffin slides defensively. It's just fundamentally wrong.

Tier 1
1. Smith
2. Chet
3 Banchero

Tier 2
4. Sharpe
5. Ivey

Tier 3
6. Murray

Tier 4
7. Daniels
8. Mathurin
9. Griffin

Tier 5
10. Sochan
11. Davis
12. Duran

This is how I would rank them. Anyone in the same tier are close enough/interchangeable that I could be persuaded on the order. I like Sharpe a lot more than others and have also been on the Daniels bandwagon for a while. I do believe there is a drop off in the 9-10 range so being in the top ten is a good spot in this draft.

I don't get it, our biggest need is guard, especially an athletic combo guard. Ivey fits perfectly. His holes and flaws are repairable. I don't see any prospect that would have a bigger impact on us next year.

Sure the Pelicans indeed need a guard...

Ivey is just a bad fit IMO.

He's not a good defender, not a good shooter (25% from 3 freshman year, 25% on his last 15 games sophomore year), and his midrange is terrible (20% on midrange shots... and they look TERRIBLE).

I fail to see the need for an uber athletic guard who struggles on defense and in the half court.

I really get the sense people are just overthinking Ivey and just being contrarian for no reason.

He’s going to be very good in the NBA as more of a secondary option, on a team that doesn’t run an antiquated offense, in a league with more spacing, and the existence of a defensive 3 seconds call.

What's his fit on this team?

He's not great off-ball, he doesn't space the floor, and he's not a good defender.

Im sure Ivey will be a good. He's just a bad fit for this team.
