Not only that, Demps would have effectively traded CP3 for CP3, Davis and Dwight

How would we trade the same pick to two different teams? You also can't trade consecutive year picks, so you'd have to either take the player this year and then trade him as part of the deal, or the pick for Bledsoe would be in 2015.

Once the 2013 draft passes 2014 is no longer a future pick so the consecutive picks rule doesn't apply. Do the Gordon trade with the 2013 pick on draft night, then do the Lopez trade with the 2014 pick when free agency starts. The Clippers probably aren't trading Bledsoe until CP3 has actually signed his contract anyway.

I've done this before...

Trade Davis and Gordon to Minn for Love and Barea.
Draft Zellar.
Pick-up the option on Lopez, resign Amundson.
FA sign Redick, Budinger and Korver.
Trade for S. Blake (Laker salary dump).

Vasquez/Blake/Barea
Redick/Korver
Anderson/Budinger
Love/Smith/Amundson
Zellar/Lopez

Best shooting team in the league..

But not because you explained it sufficiently, your post did leave people guessing what picks you were referring to.

A lottery protected first = future 1st rounder

2013 1st would be the first in this years draft.

pretty simple to interpret.

I think the general consensus on this board remains that Gordon is still a top 5 SG in the league

We now have fairly substantial evidence that this just isn't true.

Teams know they're getting a bad attitude dude, made of glass, that when actually playing is just an above average chunker.

People like Gordon are a dime a dozen in this league, and without the baggage and a max deal to deal with as well

that can't be true. you should start a thread on it and do a vote.

I've said in the past that Deng for Gordon would probably look more like Deng + Gibson for Gordon + Smith and if it happens it happens for 2 reasons, cheap owners in Chicago and Derrick Rose rattling the cage via his brother and overvaluing Gordon because they're former AAU BFFs.

Regarding the Golden State trade it works for them if you also take back both of their bad contracts. They have a cash crunch this season and will probably take a step back without financial assistance from a team with cap space.

I can see Deng because we need a 3 and his salary matches up.

Why Gibson, though? That extension which kicks in next season is fricking ugly, as he gets paid between $7.5m and $9m a season between 2013-2014 and 2016-2017.

That's a lot of money to take on if the idea is to keep Anderson as the 6th man, as Gibson's minutes have mainly been at the 4 rather than the 5.
