Paul would have stayed for the money too imo

The money isn't what's different as much as the years. Over 4 years the difference would have been $83 vs $79, or $1 million per year. I guarantee that his people that were hell bent on getting him to a mega market would have told him they could get him more than $1 million per year in extra endorsements. So then the only concern is do you think you'll still be a max player in 4 years to justify not needing the 5th year? I really don't think CP3 would have been worried about that. That's not how pro athletes think, just look at Eric Gordon who probably is still hoping for a near max deal on his next contract.

Thanks for the confirmation that you are all a bunch (l)'s.

You boo your own coach but not a player for an opposing team.

Boo, get in his head, give the pels a home court advantage...or continue to be your average American who is scared not to be politically correct and hurt someone's feeling.

Be ruthless make comments about his wife, tell him his haircut sucks.

Call me crazy. When the Clippers haven't done anything in the next 2 years and CP3 becomes a FA, he WILL look around. He's going to look over at New Orleans and see he has a chance to play with the best player in the league, come home to a place he still cares about, and win a title. It's going to be Lebron without all the attention whoring.

So, I'd cheer him in pre game intros for saving basketball in this city, and not pettily boo him for forcing his way out of one of the shittiest situations we've seen in recent history. Hell, convince yourself that you are sarcastically cheering him for forcing his way out instead of staying his last year, resulting in Anthony mother fricking Davis.

The boos for Monty during introductions are pretty loud and he's our damn coach

This warms my heart that it's noticed. Please direct the boos at the real problem with this franchise right now.

This is what I'm saying. Everyone should thank him for leaving since it resulted in AD.

Give the guy the ovation he deserves when he's announced and then treat him like any other opposing player. But don't be an arse hole for a justifiable decision he made 4 years ago.

So my talk about contract structure and general player motivation was the missing piece of evidence you needed? Glad I cold help make this thread more ridiculous.

I appreciate what Paul did here, and I also appreciate that he's gone.

He whined and bitched his way out of town and then tried to create his own little revisionist history to the media. I was completely indifferent in regards to him at that point.

His behind the scenes demands for a black coach and his disgraceful on-the-court conduct makes me hate him and Flop City in general, but this has nothing to do with his original departure from our city.

I love Davis way too much to even think about CP now.

I've honestly never understood the appeal behind booing and especially taunting. Taunting does nothing except make you look like an immature arse. Most pro athletes couldn't care less about what some random asshat in the stands has to say about their wife or haircut.

Well that's hardly true. Pro athletes have often engaged fans.

I'm not so confident in NT9's "behind the scenes" knowledge. With all respect all encounters we (mostly my wife) had with Chris and his wife were very positive. I'm not buying some of the crap that's been thrown around about the guy.
