3 way tie with LAL,LAC and NOP gets us 6th.
4 way tie adding in GS gets us 5th

Really?! I feel like I’m back in the bcs era watching some west coast game I know nothing about but rooting like crazy for Hawaii to pull it out.

Let’s go, blazers.

C'mon Portland. Hold on for two more quarters. Maybe play some defense? I know it's a foreign concept to you guys, but I swear it works.

I have zero expectations. Even if we get the 6 seed it’s more than likely going to be rough. Like swept easily rough

I don't know why I just turned this game on. It's going to be like the Jarrett Jack Hornicans that fought the whole game and were competitive until the last 10 minutes when the team with talent actually started trying.

They just put up the graphic that the Blazers are 2-21 in their last 23 games.

LOL. I'm definitely at the "so you're saying that there's a chance" stage of watching this.

Here are the paths left to the 6 seed:

- Wins by LAL/GSW/PHX
- Wins by UTA/GSW/PHX
- Wins by UTA/POR/LAC

1 path to a 5 seed, which I'd argue we don't want though but here it is:

- Wins by UTA/POR/PHX

Got themselves the fifth best odds and had a solid rookie development season for Sharpe. Solid tank job, Blazers.

to update after April 8 games... here's how things stand heading into the final day of the NBA's regular season

(GU = Games Up; GB = Games Back)

5) Clippers: (1.0 GU of NOP... lost season series to NOP 3-0)
Sun. @ PHX

6) Warriors: (1.0 GU of NOP... season series with NOP tied 2-2)
Sun. @ POR

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7) Lakers: (0.0 GB of NOP... won season series over NOP 3-1)
Sun. vs. UTA

8) Pelicans:
Sun. @ MIN

9) Timberwolves: (1.0 GB of NOP... season series with NOP tied 1-1... Final Game April 9)
Sun. vs. NOP

10) Thunder: (2.0 GB of NOP... lost season series to NOP 3-1)
Sun. vs. MEM

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thunder are italicized due to not being able to overtake the Pelicans in the standings

So what do the standings look like if Clippers, Lakers, and Pels all finish with same record ?

LINK

Unless I'm off, it would be:

Pels 5
Clippers 6
Lakers 7

No, GSW is at #5 in that scenario.

Looking at that, we have way more scenarios to get to anything other than 8 as long as we win.

If we lose it's 9th no matter what.

Yeah GS has to lose for a shot at 5.

Basically if we win and GS and Clips lose we get 5 no matter what the Lakers do.
