I'm glad to see more people defending BI lately. This franchise fricked BI then expected him to take a team-friendly deal. Now we're stuck with a team that lacks balance AND chemistry. We made our bed and now we get to lay in it.

You will see a couple of those teams trying to dump guys to start playing cap gymnastics to avoid the apron, something Griffin already said he didn’t want to do because the aprons are too restrictive.
This will be coming. Maybe Griff can combine CJ and Olynk’s expiring contracts and finally buy low on someone another team is trying to unload.

In what world did they frick BI lol? You are delusional. They offered him way more than he was worth two years ago and he declined. He got greedy and he lost money. Not the first nba player this happened to and won’t be the last.
The market changed on him. He rolled the dice and lost. Look at Murray, he signed maybe an average market deal and just had potentially a career changing injury. But he’s locked in to his extension. He definitely wouldn’t get that same contract now. BI is hurt all the time and yet rolled the dice. This is 100% on him.
Actually one of the few Griff decisions I agree with but he only came to that decision after BI rejected him several times.
Just another example of Griff being more lucky than good.

I don’t believe that, and if he did turn down $50m/yr and then $40m/yr, which I’m sure was 2 or 3 yr deals, then he was basically telling them he doesn’t want to be there.

Ingram is still hurt with no projected return date. Raptors have less than 30 games left. He might play 15 or 20 of them. Sounds like he's getting a fat extension though. Rumors are in the uppers 30s-low 40s on a 4, maybe 5 year deal. So it'll work out for him. Raptors are crazy to give it to him, but good for him. I don't know why Ingram fans would upset about that. I'm just glad it's not us..

I don’t think Griff offered 50, but definitely 40 or more.

Griff sure saved the organization a bunch of $$ on Jrue (doesn't fit the timeline), Josh (spacing issues), and now BI (game doesn't fit). Go ahead, not my dime, and believe what you want, but look at the team now and the next few years. A severe talent deficit, but dodged that tax though.

Thank goodness. It's bad enough being the worst team in the league. You become a laughingstock when you spend wastefully and foolishly on top of it..

There ya go, signed with the Raptors for 40 million a year.
He didn’t want to be here.

WHat happened this year was unpredictable and unprecedented, and not even that much considering Memphis went 38-34 (covid shortened season), won 56 games, then won 51 games, then all of a sudden won 27 last year, and now they are back and have the 3rd best record in the league, all b/c of 1 injury plagued season.
We had one of the most talented rosters in the league, and plenty of media people said this to start the season. No one knew how it would work together, but the talent was there.
This trade made us worse, and denying that fact makes it very clear the ridiculous bias hate so many have for BI.

Can you blame him?
The fan base blames him constantly (at least on here), his coach is an idiot, his best player is lazy and never plays, and then they offer him some shite deal while other players of equal or lesser talent with just as much injury issues sign bigger/longer deals this summer.

35 million a year for a player that’s always hurt is a shite deal?
He’s talented but basically the Raptors traded Siakam for BI and two firsts. Sold high on one player and bought low on same tier player. It’s what smart gms do.

Go back and reread the list of players i posted that signed this offseason, how many games they missed the last 5 years, and their pts/reb/ast numbers compared to BI. Yeah. shite deal from BI's perspective when you look at what those guys got.

100% right.
Must be nice to not have an idiot who thinks he's smarter than everyone else as a GM.
