We are about to trade somebody and take on a bunch of expiring contracts. This is our year

Demps will probably do something brilliant and trade Anderson or something

Hmmm. I'm thinking it's more likely we have scouted someone overseas we want to sign and then leave a spot open.

Most trades can't happen until after the 14th.

Miller I get, but unless Patric Young just wasn't going to make it, there was no reason to preemptively cut him. Either we're signing 2 guys or doing a lopsided trade like Thrillho posted.

Did that clear enough cap space for a Kobe trade? Jk jk

I really don't see any other options than trading Ryno and/or Tyreke. I just hope Loomis/Benson veto anything stupid. Trades when a GM's job is on the line don't always work out.

I think Tyreke is getting dealt for 3 expiring contracts. Pels will get all money off books to offer AD something big and get two star FA's to come along.

Moving Evans won't free up nearly enough money for two stars, especially if they re-sign Asik. Moving Ryno with Gordon would let us get a max player, keep Asik, and get some filler.

Yeah I have a feeling Reke is on his way out. He's my favorite player on the team besides AD, but if it helps the team in the long run, I'm all for it.

Reke has to be the most expendable. Having a good start and can start at two positions. Getting that contract off the books would help in the future. But Benson has the win now mentality.

The trade you suggested is a good trade that pays off in the offseason, but cuts coming now suggest a move that helps now.
