I agree but you cant just keep losing games. Give up 40 point quarters. Because by then it wont matter if they’re back.

Nah, a 3 level scorer, all nba defender, 40% 3pt shooter, and a glue guy all world-intangibles type of player don't help much. Not at all

If these dudes simply refuse to play any defense at all up to this point of the season, can someone give me a single reason to believe they will begin caring and starting to try at least a little bit at any point this season going forward?

Really pisses me off when they don’t attempt the last second shot from other side of half court.
Typical of Ingram to just say frick it is not gonna try.

If we're a bottom 3 ish NBA team with our 2 best players playing, we'll never be anything.

Also, those dudes coming back won't make Zion and BI magically start trying on defense...they've never ever ever done that consistently, so please explain why you believe they'll randomly start trying now once those dudes return?

I think Stan’s firing was all Ingram, Zion seemed to love playing for him. Zion has always loved coaches that pushed him hard from Sam Mitchell in AAU to Coach K at Duke to Stan, and he stayed pretty damn healthy with those coaches that didn’t baby him.

Ingram obviously is not happy if he doesn’t have the ball in his hands, and Stan went HEAVY Point Zion which had to piss Ingram off even more.

Having good defenders playing well (like Jose, Herb) creates a different level of accountability.

A 4-5 record is one game back of the 5 seed. Spare me your projections. It's too early.

Record isn't terribly relevant.

Process and effort are.

We're a bottom 3-5 NBA team right now, and our best 2 players are playing...well maybe not because CJ has actually been our best player by far to start this season, which is another problem as well.

Because whatiknowsofar tried it on 2K and the Pelicans went 82-0!

Yeah we aren't that. But I would love to know what teams you think that can keep their two best players and lose 3 starters and one of their best bench players would be better.

Just as much on Zion as it is on Willie.

An alpha gets his shots up regardless of coaching.

You mean like last game when we fought our arse off undermanned against one of the hottest teams in the league on their court?

I swear to God the fricking memory of this board is equivalent to a dog

The one thing about this team that really concerns me so far this season is how bad Larry Nance has been playing. That's it. I don't know if that's going to get better. If not, then we really have to address the center position -- hell, we need to address it regardless.

3 seasons? Bruh?
We’ve pretty much been in that situation every year since CP3 left.
We’ve had a winning record 3 of the last 13 seasons.

You mean when we had a 5 point lead with 2 minutes left and blew it because we didn't make a single FG?

To be clear, just for some perspective,

48/180 minutes have gone to players I don’t think would touch the floor if we were healthy

55 if you count Larry

That means about 30% of our minutes are going to people that wouldn’t even be playing in our playoff rotation

Like I said purgatory.

But we at least had some seasons where we knew we needed to tank and did so (not saying we should be tanking yet this season).

Yeah we aren't that.
You may be right, we may be bottom 2 in Net Rating after tonight

BI will have played 7 of 10 and Zion 8 of 10, and we'll probably be the 2nd worst team in the league in the 1st 10 games.

And they're not trying...at all if the ball is in their hands.

Are you saying that every team in the league would be a bottom 2 in Net Rating over 10 games when their best 2 players are playing?
