Sans Zion’s possible injury, tonight’s results could not have gone any better. The Pels avoid Denver in the 1st round of the playoffs and get a play-in game at home against a team that they went 5-0 against this season. Win that, and they get an unproven OKC team in the 1st round of the playoffs. Sometimes, the stars just align, and it rarely happens to Nola sports teams. The ball is in our court. Of course if Zion is truly injured, it’s all moot.

But if Zion’s not injured maybe this was how it was suppose to be…

Stop looking past the kings. They are destroying the warriors who gave us fits all game long. If you think we have this game, you are setting yourself for disappointment.

It would be the most pelicans thing of all time for us to lose to the kings after beating them 5 times in the regular season

The NBA is all about matchups and the Pelicans matchup great against the Kings. It doesn’t matter what the Kings are doing to the Warriors we have 5 games of domination against the Kings the Pels have to feel good right now especially if Zion can go.

Stop man. NBA is about matchups. King fans are literally pissed we lost. Just like lakers own us, we own kings. If Zion is healthy honestly its a great scenario. They dont have Monk or Huerter. Even Nance and JV play well against them.

I’d honestly like the Pelicans chances to win even if Zion doesn’t play. Now against OKC not so much.

Obviously I was joking in the other thread about us losing to the Kings simply because we're the Pelicans, however there is merit in pro sports when it comes to beating the same team over and over and over again in that it's really hard to do.

Like even we beat the Lakers once this year, we SHOULD beat the Kings Thursday, but also, I fear that it's really hard to beat a team six times in a row.

They just need to bring Ingram off the bench. We have found a style that fits zion which is fast. Ingram is not suited for that. At this point, it is all we can do. I think Willie realized we are better with him not starting.

Thats very true but you could say that after 2 games, 3 games, and 4 games as well. Sometimes no matter what happens the matchup is so bad you can still win. For instance, last time kings outshot us and we still won. Meanwhile AD and Bron played like shite and still won (although Zion injury played a big part).

Pels best case scenario shaking out.

Just beat the team you owned all fricking season at home and you get OKC instead of healthy wolves or nuggets

To be fair, the stars aligning would've been us not choking against San Antonio last week or the Kings not choking against the Suns. Either of those one-possession losses don't happen and we avoid the play-in altogether and get a Minnesota team in the first round that we match up pretty well against.

Instead, we're fighting for our lives (granted, against a team we own) for the last spot in the postseason. And while it's better for us to get OKC than Denver, OKC still probably beats us in 5 or 6, they matchup pretty good against us on top of having homecourt.

If we have Zion and he played like he did today- it’s possible we could pull it off, not likely though.

No lies fam. The only thing is that another team having homecourt doesn’t concern me since the Pels are the best road team in the NBA.

If you still have a any faith left in the season, you'll be happy to know we beat the Kings with the CJ,Herb,BI,Trey, and lineup this season by 33 points. :jump2:
