Don't get me wrong, I love Jrue the man and he is a great two way player, but outside of the Portland series, he has been the definition of anti-clutch when a game is close.
If he was Evil Jrue 75% of the time, no one would want to trade him. being Evil Jrue 2% of the time isn't really useful.

I just did not think that Griffin would trade a solid vet, huge lockerroom guy, "culture" guy, especially after hiring SVG.

I recall Griff a week ago on NBA radio talking about how quiet the locker room is and that veteran presence is important. He said the word quiet several times, and mentioned that JJ was the only vocal leader on the team.

and as TigerATL said, TradeNBA.com is far superior than ESPN's trade machine.

I personally think Jrue has gone from being underrated to overrated, and that is good for us in trade negotiations.

He's a great guy, positive in the lockerroom, a great defender when locked in...but he also starts every season like utter dogshit, is extremely inconsistent offensively, turns the ball over a lot, and defers to other players too much for a guy of his supposed caliber.

I have never been as much of a fan of his game as this board and other Pels fans are.

I think we can get a really great return given his current value, higher value than he probably deserves.

I agree with all of that. He's a great defender, inconsistent on offense, and I'm not sure how much his playstyle contributes to winning.

I think he could be a good third banana on a team that already has a primary facilitator and another primary scorer.

The big question that we've been trying to answer for months is who can you fool into taking Andrew Wiggins? I wonder if moving up from 3 to 2 and maybe a future 1st is enough for Charlotte?

There's always the Knicks, trade them #2 and Wiggins for #8 and Wayne Ellington and Mitchell Robinson. Jrue becomes Killian Hayes, Robinson/Ellington, the Minnesota 2021 pick, and maybe a another future Golden State pick. 2 solid, starting capable players, your lead guard of the future, and some future picks.

Combine this with what we heard yesterday about the Pels looking to move up and they must really love someone at the top of the draft. Hopefully it isn't Lamelo.

It’s either Hayes or Avdija

Have addressed this before as a very good fit for the Heat. And, yes, even if it would possibly mean putting Herro in play. Heat are in a seize-the-moment moment.

well then

I do not think Hayes will be there at 8. He's off the board by 6 IMO.

For those that missed the news yesterday, the league is looking to make the play in tournament a regular thing and it will include seeds 7-10.

Yeah the tweets are coming in hot and heavy form everyone covering every team saying they think they are in play.

Nuggets, Heat, Warriors, etc.

I mean...it is the right call given this offseason market will be heavily leaning towards veterans having MUCH more value.

What would a warriors deal be? Wiggins and 2?

I've said this before, but THINK about this particular offseason.

Shortened amount of time.
Weak Draft, Weak Free Agent class.
Days between Draft, Free Agency, Training Camp.
Cap staying flat or going down.
Highly irregular draft workouts.
No Summer League.
Almost no ramp up process.

What does that mean? Veterans on other teams are going to be HIGHLY coveted, rookies are going to be sort of worthless for the first half of the season if not all of it.

We could never ask for a moment where Jrue would have more value, ESPECIALLY if it comes out that he would opt-in or extend for certain teams.

They have a future Minnesota pick as well, unprotected.

The goal would obviously be to figure a way to get Wiggins to another team in a multi-team deal and get other players.

I'm not.
Jrue just doesn't fit.

Another thing is they are probably getting some decent offers.

Wiggin's #2 and Minny's 21 1st.

I know i'm in the minority, but i would not care if we kept Wiggins. I think he's maturing and while he might not live up to the #1 draft pick, he can still be a near all star level player. Just about anyone that has come here has improved their 3 point shooting. Get him to 36% and let him be mostly catch and shoot guy when BI and Zion are in, and let him be the scorer he is when BI goes out.

I don't like the idea of trading away Jrue and not getting back any veteran players. Hopefully we can find someone in FA to come here and help out with that.

WHile most know i'm not a huge Lonzo fan, i do like the idea of him being our PG off a defensive rebound starting the fast break, then becoming a catch and shoot off ball guy in the half court, especially if he becomes a much better defender.
If we came out the draft with Deni and one of the PG's at 13 like Kira or Maxey, and i'd be very happy with the team going forward. Same if we went Hayes early and then someone like Saddiq Bey at #13.

I’m fine with keeping Wiggins if Pels get the Minny pick. For just #2, nah.

Here's a GS one from Crewz:

quote:

My best case Jrue to GS trade is something like:

GS get: Jrue

Chic get: Wiggins, #2

Pels get: Thad Young, Satoransky, #4, Minny 2021 first
