The Nuggets are still open to trading power forward Kenneth Faried, with the Thunder and Pelicans among the teams that have expressed interest, Sam Amico of Amico Hoops relays.

This would be interesting...

He's been on Dell's radar for a while.

I believe Lowe and Stein were talking about how other teams including Denver seeing him as more of an energy big off the bench and speculated he wouldn't be too happy with a demotion. Sounds like a PF version of getting Tyreke, not sure that's something we should have interest in.

Wouldn't shock me if we're a facilitator in a Faried deal

According to MM Demps was looking for ways to get back into Faried's draft to draft him back in the day. Faried and AD were a totally dominant pairing in international play (against mostly non NBA players). I wouldn't be surprised if our interest was real.

I don't know, they might both be listed as PFs, but I could definitely see how Faried and AD could work well together.

We would have to give up a first and that's not happening, especially with the grueling injury history this franchise has gone through, being in the lottery is a definite possibility. Speculation is saying a Kevin love, faried swap would be good for both teams. They aren't taking Asik. Maybe they take jrue and Evans, which again is too much and so is Evans and a first. No way this happens. Pelicans were "interested" in a ton of players, like rondo, Monroe. Doesn't mean it will happen, especially when we don't have anything to give that won't hurt us.

I have no doubt that our interest is real, but what can we move to make it work?

Tyreke most likely won't be dealt because of injury concern unless Denver wants the insurance money

Ajinca alone can't get it done

I doubt we move a first rounder for him

That's why I think facilitator like Ajinca with a third team involved to make it work

We then go after a Kevin Seraphin type or take back a Joffrey Lauvergne or Jusuf Nurkic (which I doubt Denver would want to part with) in return...even then that's nonsensical

We have what might end up being the #31 pick in the draft with Philly's 2nd. Would they trade him for an expiring and a pick 25-30? If so, why not pick 31?

With them already having Jokic, Nurkic, and Lauvergne at C I'm not sure if they'd take Ajinca...

Evans + Philly 2nd wouldn't work by itself would it? Isn't Faried at approximately $12m this season?

We'd have to move Ajinca or Asik to make it make sense because there wouldn't be enough minutes to go around

Would Brooklyn take one of them if Denver doesn't? They need a backup 5

Tyreke for Faried straight up works fine salarywise. You're allowed to take back more than you send out. The rules vary a bit by the amount and whether you're a tax team or not, but with Tyreke we could take back $5 million more than we send out. Trade amount rules

Ok good point as I wasn't sure. Still creates logjam for us so we would need to move Asik or Ajinca elsewhere

Would take in a heartbeat. He's the type of player we could use. Slide AD to 5 for most lineups and Faried at the 4. Asik off the bench to eat up some minutes.

That was almost the exact scenario I thought of without losing the first.

I really do not want to move Diallo...he will be a great fit with some seasoning.
