I'm so confused. This seems like a good hire.

She is a talented black woman with some really good experience within revenue strategy with OKC. She will also help build the analytics department. Look for potential smart hires from Tulane alumni mixed with Troy Weaver nepo choices unless he gives her the keys

Coming from a great organization, and the Pelicans are well behind the rest of the league in Analytics (we literally do not have a single employee in that department). Meanwhile I believe OKC has the largest combined Scouting and Analytics departments in the NBA.

It can't hurt

Always call balls and strikes. If the franchise does something that seems good, its ok to say so.

They just happen to do far more than sucks

Sounds good. We seem to be behind the times in that department. Baby steps I guess.

I’m old school. Give me a guy that knows basketball over some computer analytics person. Analytics are why we picked guys like Kira over Maxey.

Joe Dumars is your guy then

There's a reason why the game of basketball "has been figured out", and its because of analytics.

She was under Presti her entire career dating back to San Antonio. It's probably an opportunity for her to go somewhere and build something from the ground up and cement her legacy.

@FearTheBrown · Follow The Pelicans are hiring Amanda Green in a strategy role. Green spent 11 years in OKC, most recently as a Vice President of Strategic Alignment and Team Counsel in 22-23

Was trying see what she was doing since. Without deep dive:

From Apr 2025. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Vanderbilt has hired Amanda Green as an associate general counsel tapping her NBA experience, especially with the Oklahoma City Thunder, to help the Commodores with athletics.

so because she's a woman and because she's coming to new orleans, we're asking stupid fricking questions.
