BigPerm's love affair with Val is truly a Cinderella story, one of my favorite Pels Talk story lines.

Maybe I was being a little over the top but he definitely looks a lot better this year.

What the frick happened to this thread? Can we talk ball?

Ingram 14/23 for 40 pts is crazy
Trey 6/7 from 3 for 27 points on 10 total shots is fricking nuts
More-than-the-MLE Naji showed up tonight too and looked like a 20 mil a year dude.

And is Jose a legit 3pt shooter now? Because the league is really fricked if he's gonna bomb 3s.

We already know we can beat teams over .500, now if we can win against teams under .500 then we’re putting the league on notice.

On pace for 45 wins right now, we can definitely win 50+.

If Jose keeps hitting 3s he is going get a bag from somebody.

Tonight puts him at 42% for the season so far.

Yeah, with the team being so deep, many players can carry the team. We just need Willie to play the hot hand with complimentary rotations and get the frick out the way.

10-5 over the last 15 since the 5 game losing streak and the team meeting. That includes a Zion-less TWolves loss and the Utah back to back. For all the negativity, it really is starting to come together.

Trey took his 3pt % for the season from 33% to 43% after tonight.

Not too shabby

So refreshing to beat the shite out of a bad team.

Naji Marshall has been so good this year. He makes me think we need to move pieces around to afford an extension for him

Dyson needs to learn that he doesn’t need to take a 3 because he is open. Go get a floater or collapse the defense and kick out to Trey, Jose, Hawk, CJ etc. He needs to see a shot go in then shoot the open 3. Too often he will open up with 3-4 miss 3s then end the night 1-8 with 2 points 3 steals 5 assists and 6 rebounds. Whenever he goes and gets some floaters he flirts with a triple double

Them two ugly Utah losses are stinging more and more

Win even one of those and we’re sitting at 6th

Those 2 and the 1 point lose to minny haunt me. Win those 3 and you're tied for the league lead in wins

When someone kicks it out to you in the corner and your wide arse open, you have to take the shot.
If you’re not going to shoot that, then you shouldn’t be in the corner or you shouldn’t be playing.

He just needs to make a few and get some confidence.

No gripes in a blowout win. I do think Joel and AD are onto something about the starting lineup digging holes.

Not sure the solution.

I do think the closing 5 is pretty obvious now though.

CJ
Ingram
Herb
Zion
Trey

and then strategically sub in/out Zion/CJ for defense with Dyson/Jose/Naji.

When BI is on like he was last night, he's close to unstoppable.
and if Trey is going to drain 3's from 5' behind the line like that, he's going to be really difficult to defend.

One thing i've noticed a bit more this year is BI being a lot more physical. He's working hard to get the position he wants on offense, and you're even seeing him switching onto bigger guys on defense at times and actually work hard to keep them out the paint.
That BI is worth the max, we just need it consistently from him.

and as a side note, I haven't watch Gafford play much, but i really like his defense and rim protection. I love JV and what he brings, but i do think we could bring in Gafford as the backup big and it work out. Gafford only plays 20-24 mpg anyway, and he's been that way his whole career.
Having the ability to play either one of them a little bit more based on matchups would make us an even better team.

I know the affect Larry has with this team off the court, but he's constantly hurt, and we've seen it for a while now him playing through it and being terrible. Larry relies a lot on his athletic ability, and he's had a hard time being at 100% to benefit from that athletic ability.

Larry and Kira for Gafford also gets us just under the tax.

Too me it just looks like BI and zion play better when the other isnt on the floor. Like this game BI had so much space to work with and was able to get to the rim at will

If BI is taking more 3s, like he should be, than this isn't an issue. Having Z on the floor creates so much gravity for shooters.
