I don't want ANY of this. But I don't get to be GM. This team is gonna add two vets or young vets with their 2017 and 2018 draft by June so it makes it more appealing to Jrue to re-sign. It's kinda like what the Nets did to make it appealing for D-Will to re-sign. I hate this franchises path, and I would love it if they went a different way, but it just feels like this is what will happen.
Sad. I could get on board with trading 2018 for a young vet if I knew we would get a nice rookie with the 2017. I hate trading both. On another note, I guess the previous talk about McCollum for Holiday has never advanced?

You do the trade before you re-sign Jrue. I'm not gonna explain all the math to you or how uneven trades work, but trust me it's doable

It is tehnically doable, but quite complicated being a draft night trade. Who do you move with Asik to get Lopez with no guarantee that a draft night Batum trade will work out?

If it's something like Asik/QPon/Galloway, then you take on almost $3M more in salary next year. Are the Galloway and DC opt out dates before the draft? Would Dell give up on Hill already or move Moore or both? If it's Reke, you don't have the space for Batum.

They would have to dump at least $3M in next year's salary in the Lopez trade (maybe Asik/Hill/Qpon gets you there) and have DC/Gallo opt out and renounce Reke before the draft to trade AA for Batum under a projected $102M cap.

Some Sixers Blogger is trying to make trading Holiday more palatable for the Pels by bringing in Phoenix and Brandon Knight. LINK Basically Holiday/Asik for Okafor/Knight with Bayless going to Phoenix. If Knight is so great why doesn't Philly take him? Pels get Okafor, Philly gets Knight/Ajinca/pick, Phoenix gets Tyreke and $2.6 million in insurance money. You also make it less likely that the Sixers come after Holiday and make you pay $30 million to keep him so I'd throw in another asset to Phoenix like a 2nd.

But the point remains, that even if Dell gets fired and even if Dumars or whoever comes in-- you guys clearly see now that the demands on them will be the same and that they will never take the patient, rebuild route. Right?

Again, that is just speculation on your part considering you don't know anyone in the onwership group. You are assuming that the information given to you by Dell regarding ownership is accurate and you are assuming they would treat a new GM the same and you are assuming that a new GM could not convince them to try a different path considering Dell's failures.

And what info do you have? Yes, only God knows the whole truth from every perspective. Sorry I am not him yet. But don't dismiss my info just because it is not what you want to hear

Who else told you they were drafting Buddy in February? Who else was on here telling you they were trying to trade up for Diallo forty minutes before it happened? Or told people the Pels were involved in talks with Hawks three days before the national insiders did?

Sorry I don't tell you guys what you want to hear but my little bit of info is way more than anyone else provides.

I wouldn't mind getting Okafor and Knight for Jrue/Asik, but i'm still not giving up a first round pick for it.

Philly seems determined to get Jrue and a first from us.

Sounds like the deal is dead for now

Not dead, but not moving forward at all. Both sides looking at other options, but could re-engage at any time. Framework is there

The truth is that they were never further along on that deal than any of the others. Sixers just leaked, unlike the other teams

I did not dismiss your info. I reminded you that it was speculation and not fact which you seem to conflate often.

Did you get this information from ownership? If not, then re-read my post.

That's what I figured. Leaks don't come from the Pelicans side unless they are close to being done, and they definitely don't leak to Woj.

Are there any that are further along? Are all of the targets centers (or are we actually targeting wings)?

They want to get one with the 18 pick and one with the 17 pick. But there are far more centers available right now as opposed to wings

Can you tell me what the current thought process is?

and

What the outlook for Gentry/Demps is beyond the trade deadline and into the offseason?

A trade that could make some sense is Barton and Chandler for Reke, Galloway, and 18 but Denver doesn't seem to be biting on that yet.

That doesn't make sense at all for Denver.

Barton at only $6M for next year commands a nice haul.

They haven't gotten nearly as many bites on him as you would think

Any protection on that 2018 pick in this scenario?

Denver is our best trade partner to get players, as well as Orlando, if you ask me. THey both have players they are wanting to unload. I would have no problem at all taking on Faried, who i know they want to get rid of. I"m really not that big on Chandler, or Barton. If those guys were that good, as well as the two young centers they have, Gallinari, and the rest of the "talent" on their team, why can't they even sniff something close to a .500 record.

I still say we should be trying to trade someone to Utah and /or Toronto for a late first round pick. They both have 2 each.

Denver doesn't know what it wants to be when it grows up. They put all their eggs in the "build asset portfolio to trade for star" basket and are kind of stuck until they either trade for that star or realize they don't have what it takes to get that star, hit the reset button and rebuild around their young guards and Jokic.
