I'm pretty sure the biggest part of our cap dance is bringing back around $4m more in salary than we sent out in the Evans S&T. Dallas hasn't done any S&Ts this year, signing Ellis and Calderon outright.

Yeah, I don't see where Dallas finds an extra $3 million in the couch cushions. Everyone in the Oden sweepstakes is limited to their MLE or less. So money shouldn't play much of a factor.

Don't forget the roster charge. Not sure if they have holds from picks. Forgot how those trades worked out.
You may have factored those in. Not checking it all... on phone.

Mac how the frick did LSU allow Tulane to have higher bar passage rate? When did that happen? That's embarrassing.
Never would have happened in my day, sonny.

Yall didn't have compensatory scoring. I hear the stories of people not sitting for Crim/Fed J. Can't do that no more.
In the past you could completely bomb a test and still pass. Can't do that no more. You get a 60 in Torts and you've got a tough road ahead.
Used to have to only get a 70 to pass each test. Now you need to average about 73% on each test to reach that 650/900

Well, I don't know about all that. That would never have been an issue for me. Ahem.
I mean, I can see that they may have wanted to spot Tulane and Crayola a few points.

Also we are talking about Tulane beating LSU's rate by like less than 1%

Well we all know you weren't distracted by social events keeping you from studying having that stache and all.

Yep. It's been my driving force to study all summer.

I actually failed the LA bar the first time I took it (had previously passed the MA bar which was a walk in the park with the MBE and such) as I only just ordered the books without taking a course. Passed it the second time just by 'memorizing' the type of questions they ask. The Code stuff usually hit on the same type of questions. LA Civ pro was a joke because they recycled the exact same questions almost verbatim.
Negotiable Instruments was a pain. You can basically skip that stuff on most other states bar. In Mass 60% was the MBE and 40% was based off of 10 essay questions. I utterly tanked the Secured Transactions one knowing it wasn't worth my time being such a small percentage.
If you're doing the BarBri course you'll be fine. If not, well, I dunno I guess you could still be fine.

Yep, that's basically all this test is, repeated questions. A lot more multiple choice now, most has been redacted though. They are apparently building a bank of questions to use when they change the format in a few years.

I spotted commercial paper but it's pretty straightforward now. Just memorize the 7 steps of negotiability, holder in due course requirements, statement review rule and that's probably 20/25 points on the NI question.

I'd be completely lost if I didn't

Would you rather this or Jester freaking out about losing bench players?

Ah, that's right, I heard they were changing the format. It's about time. Granted they can't give the MBE like the other 49 states but they'd be better served having a stock of objective multiple choice questions and having that count for the majority of the exam. It's also easier on the graders!
Do they still have that lady with the stuffed animals who teaches the Fed Jurisdiction on the BarBri? She broke that stuff down quite well.

That said, it's kind of flattering. Just a bunch of young bucks who recognize the alpha male.

Yeah all the Code tests have about 1/4 multi choice now that we can't see. Most of the sections that have a common law counterpoint don't because assumingly they'll take some of the MBE questions.

Yep. Diversity jurisdiction by Beanie Babies
She's one of the best lecturers by far. She has this 60 page handout that breaks down all the previous questions into like 20 categories. Really helps you conceptualize it.

@ESPNSteinLine: Mavericks closing in on deal with Samuel Dalembert to be their new starting. Deal, I'm told, should be wrapped up soon
looks like Mavs out the picture
ETA: Maybe not
@ESPNSteinLine: Mavs also continue to chase Greg Oden along w/Heat/Pelicans/Spurs but felt they HAD to land Dalembert after Dwight to HOU & passing on Bynum
