It does seem unlikely.
And yet...teams with a superstar very very often just happen into a 2nd star. It just seems to happen.
(Of course the flip side is, for a team to get a 2nd star...someone loses there's)

Howard is only gettable if he opts out, which I would say is highly unlikely. Or we give them Asik + a lot of other assets in a S&T (Which I can't see Houston doing)
Don't want Dirk. At all. He's got maybe 2 years left in the tank, at best. Why go for a year or two of dirk (who still won't be that cheap) over a chance at Durant?
I don't see any scenario that Westbrook is gettable, unless you're saying you hope Durant leaves OKC and then Westbrook wants out after the 2016 season.

I would take Westbrook over Durant.
Not because I think he'd make us better than getting Durant. But he's definitely my favorite player to not named AD to watch.

because we are playing probabilities and Howard and Nowitzki are more gettable than durant.
and Westbrook would certainly entertain leaving if durant bolts for DC

Well yea, but we wouldn't be foregoing a shot at Durant at that point. We would have already missed that opportunity.

not necessarily
say durant leaves after next season, and Westbrook wants out
OKC might cut bait with one year left on westbrooks deal

the Pels could get an average SF with a 3 yr contract for free, I am saying they wouldn't do it.
They would turn down a guy who could help now, and be moved later if necessary, just to hold a spot for the potential of Durant a year from now?

Does the team want Durant? Of course. Are they not going to take on an untradable contract that would prevent them from doing so? I don't think you'll be able to move Asik any time soon, but outside of that, I can see Demps avoiding overpaying, trading for a Rudy Gay for example. But he might avoid overpaying anyway. I think it was Schwann in the podcast that said the key to keeping AD long term isn't just winning, it's winning and remaining flexible enough to change with the league and reload when needed like the Spurs have done. Demps has plenty of time left on the clock and hasn't mismanaged things to the point that signing Enes Kanter to a max deal looks like your best choice, staying flexible and not overpaying for any more present assets SHOULD be how he operates.

Absolutely. They need to raise their Q score around the league. Davis helps. Winning will help more, which is why running it back this summer always made sense.
I guess I was confused by "average SF." I took that to be a guy like Ariza, whom many teams would take.

Damn...I never noticed how fricked up Harden's grill is.

I hope we get him, but don't have any expectation. We'll put our best foto forward, at least.

Me. Because anyone outside of the 504 would rank us at best 3rd on that list.
