He's probably worth the money suggested when you compare to the kind of deals Iggy, Thiago Splitter etc got. So they will match IMO, hoping for a S&T here.
When is the next lockout scheduled?

If Demps put a large trade kicker in,it would make it difficult for him to trade. So

Although the Pelicans technically are still waiting for Evans to verbally commit to signing the offer sheet, sources close to the situation regard that as "an inevitability" by week's end. Evans then would formally sign the four-year, $44 million offer sheet on July 10, when the league's annual moratorium on signings and trades is lifted. Sacramento would have three days to either match or pass on the offer.
The Pelicans/Evans are purposefully not agreeing so they can guarantee that he doesn't end up a King one way or the other, leaving the door open for a S&T I think.

Yeah I could see them doing that, it was rumored.
PHX tried something similar with the 4th year player option.

We can do a S&T until he signs the offer sheet.

But how big of a kicker can he put in? Even if the kings have to wait a whole year before being able to trade him, that's better than losing him for nothing and not using the remaining cap space for anything else.

This is why I don't like going after RFA. The Hornets got burnt with Mo Pete because of it that one year and we saw how it worked out for PHX.

Well he automatically gets a one year no trade clause I believe if SAC matches. Like EG has.
Nothing to stop Dell from adding no trade years though. (I think)

I really dont see their logic of not matching at this point.
They want to rebuild around Cousins and McLemore

Nevermind. Can't put a no trade clause...
"A "no-trade" clause prevents the team from trading the player without the player's consent. A no-trade clause can be negotiated into a new contract1 if the player has been in the NBA for at least eight seasons, and has played for the team with which he is signing for at least four seasons. They don't have to be the four most recent seasons -- for example, Horace Grant received a no-trade clause from Orlando when he signed with them in 2001. He had played for Orlando for the requisite four seasons, but had played for Seattle and Los Angeles in the interim. Very few players actually have one of these negotiated no-trade provisions (currently only Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett and Dirk Nowitzki have them).

To end up with a starting 5 that are all either legit all-stars or considered to be that level of talent?

I'm pretty sure Josh Smith who had a similar sized contract had a 15% trade kicker that may not have stopped Smith from being traded by itself, but made trading Smith much more complicated and it was brought up multiple times for the 2 years Smith was unsuccessfully on the trade block.

My point is, they can either keep him with whatever trade restrictions he has and wait to trade him when those restrictions are over and get real assets for him, or they can let him go for nothing and waste all that cap space. A lot of this does depend on the type of restrictions Dell put into the offer. He very well may have put enough restrictions in it to where the Kings wouldn't think it's worth matching. But maybe Dell didn't put that many restrictions in because he's afraid of shooting himself in the foot if a great deal comes along (in the future) that involves Evans.
Of course they could do a S&T. And that is what I think will happen. But if Reke signs that offer sheet, then a S&T is out the window and I think the Kings would be stupid not to match. Of course, it is the Kings...

Great insight from the almighty Dell
ETA: Speaking of Josh Smith, why don't the Kings go after him and forget about Reke

This is what makes me think Dell may not have put in such a big restriction in the offer. Because you never know what the future holds, and you want to have the ability to trade any of your players on your roster if the right deal comes up. This doesn't necessarily apply to the superstars though.
