I guess i would have to subscribe to Pelicans+ for 14.99 a month until WAFB gets their shite together, or YouTubeTV gets their shite together.

You clearly don't know how antennas and OTA work This is all a you problem or your antenna problem. Has zero to do with WAFB

I have every major OTA network channel and their subsidiary channels with my antenna in SE BR

I am somewhat amazed at how clueless some people are when it comes to antenna's. I'm trying to be helpful and not an arse, but it's not easy.

Let me just slap this piece of plastic the size of a piece of paper behind my tv and that'll do the trick. Being old shouldn't be an excuse as you should know that rabbit ears didn't work well unless they were extended out, and you might have had to go hold one of them to get a better reception. Any decent antenna back in the day was OUTSIDE. TV signals don't magically go through trees and houses.

If you are 50 miles from the tower, you probably need a 100 mile range antenna. whatever the range the antenna says, it's assuming you are hooking up your antenna on a pole 30' in the air with zero trees, buildings or hills inbetween the antenna and the tv tower. The second you put it inside the range probably is cut in half, if not more. Just b/c it says "indoor antenna" doesn't mean it has some special indoor magic built into it. It simply means don't put outside b/c it's not weather proof.

I don't know anything about WAFB since i'm in New Orleans, but I can say this about WVUE that also may apply to WAFB.

For years, the WVUE signal was hot garbage. Every other major channel came in clear on antenna but WVUE was always spotty.

Then, a few months ago, it all of a sudden cleared up and comes in much better now. It even has some fancy features with it.

The new channel comes in good as well.

It's possible that Grey is upgrading their broadcast antennas and hasn't upgraded WAFB yet.

We just moved to Tennesee, but my buddy in BR gave me access to his DirecTV

If I log into his account, will I be able to watch the games?

As of today, no. But even if DTV did offer it, you'll have to make sure you have his zip put in as the location. When I went to Wisconsin last year, my Ballys and locals were for Madison, not Lafayette. I had to let the recording of the Pels game play a bit and watch it recorded. The next time I flew in, I changed the zip and was able to get Lafayette channels.

And I do have 32.1 on antenna right now, but it comes in at 480P. Anyone know if this is an antenna issue or if they broadcast in 480?

To be clear Pelicans+ is not a stand alone app? I've searched for it in Roku and Apple TV and can't find it, though there are literally hundreds of other sports apps available (MSG+ app anyone?).

Is the only way to access Pelicans+ through the NBA app? That's available everywhere, but I can't seem to subscribe to Pelicans+ through the TV streaming version of the NBA app, at least I don't see any way to navigate to that subscription through my TV remote.

On my computer I can do it. But then I'm trusting that when I subscribe online using my NBA ID that will translate over to the streaming service say through the NBA app on Roku. That it will recognize me and know I've subscribed to Pelicans+. I'm not sure I trust that it will. Anyone tried it yet that way?

Problem is, i don't live 50 miles, i only live 8 miles from the tower.

FCC reported that WAFB uses a 10,000 watt tower, and others are using 30,000 watt tower (Whatever that means).

Our indoor antennas are likely to work with 30,000 than 10,000. I don't speak tower language, or antenna language

If WAFB would upgrade their tower to par with their competitors (WBRZ, WGMB, WVLA, and LPB) then they would be available on more type of antennas.

I haven't done it yet, but I think you are overthinking this. The reason it's in League Pass is because it's built from the same basic infrastructure. If you sign up for Pelicans+ that subscription is tied to your NBAID, This is the URL where you sign up for Pelicans+ it redirects you to a League Pass signup page:

www.nba.com/watch/league-pass-stream/pelicans?teamName=pelicans

If you'd feel more comfortable waiting for others to go first, I get that, and eventually one of us will sign up and post about it. But if your concern is will it work in the League Pass app, this looks very much like a League Pass subscription.

Yes, I may be over thinking it. It's just that certain things I do on the League Pass app on my computer don't seem to carry over to streaming on my TV. For example, the streaming version doesn't seem to know the team preferences I selected on my computer. Same NBA ID.

I'll sign up through League Pass on my computer and assume it will work on my streaming device. I just thought Pelicans+ might be a stand alone app like the hundreds of others sports apps you can subscribe to through Roku or Apple TV....

From what they said in the release it sounds like it will be, but they clearly have been scrambling to get this out the door. People that weren't ready to believe they'd have a streaming service option before it actually came out weren't wrong to have doubt.

It shouldn't be that difficult because it's just a subset of the league pass app with limitations and access. I'm sure it'll be modeled after whatever other teams version of the app that's already out there. I'll be shocked if they're unable to get it out before Tuesday when the season starts.

This ain't a utility billing cycle brah. You're basically paying at the first of every month including the month of sign up.
Billing cycle officially the 23rd of every month. So it is cheaper paying $15 a month vs $100 for the season.

I’m trying to figure out the same thing. I downloaded the NBA app on my Amazon fire stick and logged in but at the moment it’s not really indicating that the game is available to me.

So Pelicans+ link that I just subscribed to utterly lied about me being able to watch through NBA app after I subscribe to Pelicans+…

I play apps through my XboxOne and/or SmartTV. I’m not sure which direction to take at this point because I cant watch pregame through NBA app.

Edit: This has become a pain in the dick every year

Just got everything up and running. Downloaded the Pelicans+ app from my AppleTV. Signed in with NBA login info. Streaming from my tv now. Easy peasy.

Feels like I’m watching something from the 90’s

Go to Pelicans+ website on your web browser and use that.

From what I can find they are supposed to have apps for everything, some are saying they don’t have it on Roku yet so it maybe waiting on approval through Roku or something. Web browser should work for now
