Meh, I would have kept the pick next year and gambled that it would be higher than 23. Next year's draft is supposedly strong and there are only 7 picks lower. Not to mention, the "unknown" usually makes a pick more valuable in a trade scenario, whereas now it is set at 23 (which has little value in a trade).

An extra pick this year is more valuable for this team than in 26.
and the east is wide open. Celtics and bucks should take a step back next season. Pacers should be a top 3 seed next year in the east

same. Not mad but would have preferred to just keep the pick. Hard to have a strong opinion on a move like this

Load up for a trade move imo

I don't like this at all. Having (2) picks in a loaded draft is a great thing. It would hurt us to now lose it trading up IMO.

Find a way to move up from #7 without losing this pick or stay put and draft (2) players.

I wonder if the chances of us picking Malauch at #7 just increased. Only because we now have shooting options at #23 with guys like Nique Clifford and Walter Clayton.

Food for thought:

We could possibly trade Herb for like #15 and a future 1st.

#7/ #15/#23/ future pick

Quick rebuild and extra salary space/ TPE while keeping Murray/ CJ/ Trey/ Zion.

Would rather something like that or keep #7/ #23 > trading up.

Seems like they want to draft 2 players in the first round. If they wanted to trade up then they would have just used to pick to trade up on draft day. It probably would have been a better bargaining chip than the set 23rd pick.

If we keep that pick, I wouldn't mind Walter Clayton there.

I’m hoping Rasheer Fleming falls there. 6’9 with a 7’5 wingspan and can shoot.

I'd be happy if one of Fleming or Coward is there at 23 if we don't take a wing/forward at 7.

Multiple shots in this draft would be more picks in the teens, this feels like more empty filler you put in a deal

I'm sure the rest of the East thanks the Pels for improving the Pacers financial position

And for what? A low pick in a top-heavy draft.

They're going to have to plan for the future now. They have Turner to overpay this offseason and will need to extend both Mathurin and Nembhard as soon as this offseason.

Anyone watching game 5 knew he had a calf strain.

This is such a stupid comment.

Hali's calf strain in June of 2025 will have ZERO impact on the Pacers' 2026 draft positioning. If you want to constantly post negative comments, there's plenty of fertile ground to cover. This was just dumb.
