"on the verge"

We're on the same page buddy.

When Kevin Garnett was "on the verge" the timberwolves werent selling out the arena either. That's my point, which some aren't understanding.

It was only a matter of time until this thread degenerated into a teen age girl screaming match.... Something needs to happen with FA or Pelicans fans are going to go straight Lord of the Flies on each other.

only scenario that would achieve the result mack is looking for this season in terms of attendance is getting LeBron

I guess the question this quote begs is, is this just normal due dilligence to find depth, an acknowledgement that we will likely have to lose some our current SF scrubs (Miller, Babbit, Southerland) to complete the Asik trade, or a sign of desperation that we're looking harder than normal for diamonds in the rough because we'll be looking at Stiemsma level FA SFs.

I'm thinking it's #2, losing our scrubs, which suggests we're keeping Ryno which I consider good news.

Agreed. Dumping Ryno at his lowest possible value without seeing how he, Davis, and Asik will work out would be very disappointing.

Depending on how things shake out w/ Asik (I like your Morrow S/T thought), they really only need some big wings and maybe a backup big on the roster.

No surprise. Luke Babbitt on @PelicansNBA summer league roster, not at prax
Gotta believe his non-guaranteed contract part of upcoming trade

It's rare enough that it needs to be said twice. What about James Southerland, Ajinca and Withey?

Austin + Ely + Babbit = $4.5ish

We need $5.5ish, so either another scrub or Morrow S&T for about $3.5 would fit just Babbit missing practice.

While it is certainly possible that him missing practice is trade related, it could be any number of things. He could just not have shown up. He could be sick. We will find out.
