I just want Mark Cuban to throw the max at Chandler Parsons. Then, I will completely not give 2 craps about Bosh heading to Houston.

What makes you think that is the most likely scenario?
People see Miami's moves as presumptive of a return of the Big 3. Most are assuming that if they had an indication of LeBron leaving there'd be more activity from the Heat in an effort to replace him.

Everything I've read says Bosh is returning to Miami if LeBron stays. I can't find it right now but I ran across something this morning that said he told Houston as much although they'll be his 1st 2nd choice if LeBron leaves.

That still depends on what other additions they may make.

Same here. While I can't say that they won't win another championship, they are very beatable. Also, Bosh on the Rockets would be a great fit for them, and would be terrible for us.

Being that they just used their MLE, and their Biannual, there won't be too many other moves outside re-siging Bosh, Wade, LeBron, and some minimum guys to fill out the roster.

I know what you're talking about, but I do think that Bosh might bite on this deal if time continues to standstill... it's way to tempting.

I don't think the Miami Heat would know yet if Lebron was staying or leaving. The big meeting with Riley hasn't even happened yet right? Any activity that would shun Lebron's ability to sign at max salary at this point would only guarantee his way out of Miami.

Don't they have to get to the cap before they can even use those exceptions? I assume that if James and/or Bosh go(es) elsewhere, those guys will just be signed into space. Would Miami be forced into tank mode?

The Melo waiting on Miami rumors have been curious because it seems if LeBron stays there's no room for him. But if LeBron leaves, would Melo + DWade + max salary slot be a better situation for Melo than NY or LA?

You have to account for the possibility of Bosh leaving. That is where the room could be.

Riley wants Bosh to go to Houston, then sign Melo and LeBron. God help us if that happens. Will make the Heat slightly better and make the South-West Division even stronger. Plus make the Spurs have a harder road to the finals.

miami is operating above the cap at the moment based on cap holds for their free agents (bosh/james/wade/haslem). thats how they can use the MLE & BAE. if one or more of the FA's says they are leaving, the heat can renounce them, free the cap hold, and either sign other players into cap space until over and still use the exceptions for mcbob & granger, or just sign them into space at the same $ amount

I find it dubious that the Heat would WANT to turn Bosh into Melo. Bosh played center quite a bit and was a key piece of the defense. Based on what Spoelestra has said about Bosh I doubt he'd be on board with that swap. I wouldn't be surprised to find that all of the rumors about the Heat breaking up originated from Houston and Cleveland. You have to remember that most news we hear right now that isn't about an actual signing, is being leaked for a reason by someone.

Nah...at first I was more on the optimistic side..as the days go by with no news my attitude about the pels future goes south. There are no exciting guys out there in play for Demps to try to get this offseason. Even if we had the financial means to do so. Getting Asik was big, but not HOLY shite F YEAH! Let me go buy a new Pelicans tshirt today! - worthy.
Benson wants to put/keep butts in the seats. Pelicans are a new team/new brand/new fans. We want something to get excited about god damnit

Yes AD is exciting.
I'm referring moreso to actually winning games.
Understand that pointing your finger and saying "bandwagon fan!" is applicable to every Pelican fan out there. Theyre a brand new team. EVERYBODY is a new fan of a new team....fyi

That's the thing. Most of the moves Dell has made were in trades, not Free Agency. So guys like Asik, Jrue, and Anderson weren't neccessarily "in play" before the deals were made. Wait until preseason before you start complaining about the roster. It's a little premature to say "we havn't done anything this offseason", being teams can't even techincally sign Free Agents at this point.

They are not a *Brand New* team. Dude they just changed their name. A rose by any other name ... yatta yatta yatta
