Green and a pick for ryno looks more plausible ATM.

So this offseason it would be surrendering Ryan Anderson for Asik/Green. That seems like a solid move IMO.
I do like Ryan Anderson though.

I still don't know how I'd feel about that trade.

If/when Anderson is traded, I really hope they can do better than Green.

Oh I was looking at the move as a whole may be ok.

I hear that. Nothing wrong with the that whole. Since they picked up Asik for the pick, just being greedy and would like more for Anderson.

If we would get a pick and Green for Anderson and only give a pick for Asik, I think it's a win for sure. Basically Ryno for Asik and Green. I'll definitely take that.

I'd prefer trying to get a third team involved in the Asik trade that allows us to keep Ryno and Asik. If we knew that we could use the pick from the Suns to dump Gordon, that would definitely get me on board if it was essentially Gordon/Ryno for Green + ~$12m in cap space.

So maybe
Holiday
Gordon
Green
Davis
Asik
Then Evans and Rivers running the second unit.

Yeah if we can some how asorb Asik without losing Anderson it would be preferable. I don't think I like the idea of losing Rivers as he may be future depth if Gordon leaves as a FA or trade.

I'm gonna be pissed if Gordon starts over Evans, for several reasons: Gordon should probably only play ~25 minutes to limit injuries, Evans is better than Gordon, and finally because it'll probably piss off Gordon and he may opt out.

As long as they all get 30+ minutes it doesn't matter.
The only way we will ever trade Gordon though is if he shows out in big minutes.
Monty was an idiot for not playing Evans more.

Not to mention it would probably piss off Evans if he didn't start after how he played at the end of last season. It's far more important to keep Evans happy obviously.

I'm wondering what the Orlando office has in mind. That's a lot of money and years for Frye considering he missed a season recently for heart problems
I don't know. 2 years later, Frye is getting slightly less money than Anderson at a time when the salary cap will increase by about $10-$20M over the life of his contract. You have to think they checked out his medical records are fine with it. His main skills should age quite nicely.
He's worse than Anderson, but as a pick and pop stretch big he is one of the best in the league. PHX isn't nearly the same team without his skills and presence on offense. I hope this doesn't presage Anderson for Green/1st. That's a losing trade for New Orleans under current coaching philosophy.

Well as it stands now I would start Holiday, Gordon, and Evans together.
Evans would potentially be the only defensive mismatch; however, the other four starters would be capable defenders at their position. I would consider the offensive firepower outside of Asik to be outstanding. Including having Anderson and Rivers coming off the bench as very strong sixth and seventh men.
I am just concerned we will lose Anderson or Rivers to complete the Asik deal.

Didn't we try that last year for a while? I know it was still early for Evans and Holliday so that probably played a role in it.
Posted on 7/7/14 at 8:20 pm to Mickey Goldmill
Yeah but how long did we really try it and I think some one posted the stats and they weren't bad.

Holiday/EG/Evans/Ryno/AD: 91 minutes, +16
Holiday/EG/Evans/Smiht/AD: 48.7 minutes, +12

I don't believe they ever started the game together.
That 5 man unit only played 91 minutes total. ORating of 123.5. DRating of 119.8. League average was around 104. A +3 in Net is solid. Most title contenders are at least +6 though.
