I'm hoping Morey goes full Cuban and starts blowing up his core in hopes of landing FAs and failing miserably. For us, that beats hiring a better coach and building around his core.

Aminu to Mavs a possibility. Morrow is probably getting looked at by half the league.

so yall are thinking the rockets swing a side deal with parsons to wait till after they sign anthony or trade for love, then go over the cap to sign parsons?

seems like a risk
if they dont sign a big fish, would they still want to sign parsons into cap space?

Why wouldn't they? Melo has played PF a good bit, signing him doesn't mean Parsons is gone, so why would they dump Parsons if they don't get him?

According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Portland Trail Blazers have “serious interest” in conducting a sign-and-trade for Detroit Pistons forward/center Greg Monroe. If pursued, the deal would almost certainly involve Trail Blazers small forward Nicolas Batum based on need, salary, and structural mobility. By trading Monroe for Batum, the Pistons could slide Josh Smith into the vacant power forward position where he belongs, take in a talented wing to help Brandon Jennings facilitate the offense, and balance the books all in one go. By trading Batum for Monroe, the Trail Blazers could have the best offensive frontcourt in the league, and possibly clear some cap for retaining Aldridge next season in the process.

my assumption is they want another "star"
i dont think they mind paying parsons, but they'll be capped out if they do it without getting anthony or love first, unless i am misunderstanding

True, but that was the risk they took. The plan was to make the move this offseason, if they fail to land the big fish with cap space they'll have to do it by trade in the future, probably including Parsons. Houston had a tough choice, either give Parsons a real contract a year early, probably in exchange for a wink and nod deal that he wouldn't shop hard for a deal, or let him become a UFA getting as much money as he can the following year.

Jodie Meeks has agreed to a three-year, $19 million-plus contract with the Detroit Pistons, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Does this mean Morrow's market price just went way up?

Meeks did average over 15pts a game last season but it was definitely an outlier year for him.

SVG loves him some shooters, but that's insane.

You'd think Dumars was still running their front office.
