Maybe its Casspi saving face after getting waived. Maybe he just really didn't want to play here.
Clearly saving face. It was reported that he was only included for accounting purposes to make the deal work on the Rockets' side. They were going to waive him before August any way.

Good write up from The Bird Writes explaining how we can still have the room exception available with the right order of transactions (despite McNamara coming close to having a stroke trying to explain otherwise).

It clanks off the rim. He rebounds it.

I ran the numbers earlier myself and it wasn't quite there. But I had Salmons as $2 million not $1.9. It certainly seems plausible, but are we really going to drop $2.7 on Wesley Johnson when we won't have any minutes to develop him with?

It would at least leave the door open for options. What is the latest on Shawn Marion?
Francisco Garcia?

I still think $75 million is a nice round figure that Benson/Loomis would throw out when Demps went to them and told them "I can get the starting center we need but he's kind of expensive" Current salary + Asik balloon payment is around $74.8 million.

Is that minus the $1.5 million coming back from the Rockets?

I don't think Benson would sweat it if that number went to $76.1 million.

Didn't we send cash to Charlotte for Hopson? I wonder if that would have any affect on Benson's spending limits.

Saw this on my Twitter feed. Even though we really don't need another SG, if we were looking for a Morrow replacement, why not Jimmer?

Huh. That's pretty interesting.

We sure as shite don't need another guard, but it would be worth it if he's making the vet minimum.

Because we have a more athletic Morrow on the Summer League team

From the wiki page on Fells:

quote:

In September 2013, he signed with Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters

This isn't meant as any judgement on the quality of the team, just the quality of the name.

If you're being sarcastic then I apologize, but let's wait until a 28 year old player, who hasn't played a second in the NBA, goes against real NBA players before we say he's better than someone already in the NBA. Fells has been impressive, and I'm not exactly beating the drum to sign Jimmer, but I do think he could be a Morrow replacement if we felt we still needed one. With how many Guards we have now, I don't think it'll be necessary however.
