This isn't a fire sale. They don't have to trade him for two years if they don't want to. Adding bodies doesn't make it a better trade.
I know but I have a feeling CP3 will make this happen......it could get ugly. I don't really want to see batum go but if it came down to it he can go.
Batum, Bayless, Fernandez, Oden and a first round pick isn't too bad if it came down to it. Not to mention getting rid of Okafor's contract. Miller or Bayless can be traded elsewhere if need be.

Send him & Emeka Okafor to the Clippers for Blake Griffin, Eric Gordon, and Al-Farouq Aminu

What's he going to do, sit out? Maverick and the LRMR retards aren't even dumb enough to let him do that.

He isn't going to "make" anything happen
And the Hornets aren't going to deal him just to clear cap room. This is an organizational changing move, you don't just clear cap and chalk it up as a loss for Paul.

I don't think the mentioned Portland trades are terrible (probably from the false hope that Oden would stay healthy), but I would like to pull this off:
LINK
I think if that team plays well and the CBA throws a hard cap in, they could probably convince West to play the second year, making it more appealing for them. They could also try to get another team involved to get something for Miller.

We will see what happens but I have a feeling that their will be a lot of "shocked" people on this board when the deal goes down. We already know he isn't being traded to clear cap room, Okafor has that title already

It's already ugly imo. Unless he's the GM he's not making shite happen, bottom line, unless Demps is complete Clown (with a capital C), and I don't think he is.

They can do better. They need to shed Okafor and get multiple high picks OR a mid-level superstar and one high draft pick. He's one of the best players in the game. There are several teams with owners who are willing to break the bank AND who have cap space. He's under contract for 2 more years. They won't get equal value, its not possible, but they shouldn't get fricked either.

I doubt he gets traded, especially if Chouest gets involved. everything is all about 2010/2011 because there probably wont be a 2011/2012. If there is it will be shortened
but if he does get traded, the Hornets need youth and size and to dump salary because the talk is the new CBA the owners want is:
contracts of no more than five years, with no more than 4 guaranteed
no more MLE
no more soft cap/luxury tax
so the Hornets need as much long term flexibility they can get to be a player after the lockout. Plus they will soon have to look at big boy contracts for MT5 and DC if that is really where their future is
sucks that CP3 is not giving Demps and Monty a chance

have you ever been right about anything sports related on this board yet?

It depends on what direction we want to go & if we even would trade him to 1 of his listed teams.
Knicks
- we get back unproven players all on 1 yr contracts with team/player options after that we could pick them up if we wanted to.
Magic
- only 1 expiring contract in old arse VC, Pietrus 1 yr then player option, no to Jameer & Bass 3 yrs left, & frick Gortat & his 4 yrs left
Mavs
- only reason CP wants to go there is cause Tyson Chandler! Cuban stays offering everybody but Dirk & we keep saying no cause ain't shite on that roster but aging dudes, Terry, Kidd, Caron Butler, Marion...gtfo
Blazers
- this is the best option cause the players already know Monty & if we were going the short term route. Some those guys have playoff experience already & all are 1 yr contracts if they didn't work out.

Demps and Monty better tape the meeting because I have a feeling that, if CP3 doesn't get his way, he's going to claim that they lied to him, etc., in order to throw another fit down the road and try to force his trade again.

Honestly, if any of this is legit and 1) CP3 hasn't already completely made up his mind, 2) our 2 new hires aren't complete slapdicks, they meet with him fricking tomorrow. Yes, for the franchise player, you drop whatever you're doing and you go meet him. The longer you wait the less chance you have of retaining him.

I've got a feeling that #1 is pretty much true. CP3 wants out and it's a question as to whether it will be now, later this season, or in two years when he opts out.

Damn, really? Because he wants to get out of a shitty situation? I can't believe how fast people are turning on this guy. Dude was a fricking hero a month ago. He didn't become a prick overnight.

Yeah, but I'd be surprised if Chris doesn't already have his mind made up. He's being a girl about this, his bff got a new toy and he's pissed that he doesn't have it.

who knows, supposedly CP3 is out in Vegas doing things. Last I heard Monty was still moving from his home in Portland. Demps has been on the job for 2 days. And im sure the ownership situation isnt helping any.
Im not making excuses. I agree with you. But maybe they know something we don't. The only thing the media has said was "friends of his" were saying stuff. So who knows what is true and what is not
Posted on 7/22/10 at 11:47 pm to kfizzle85
he may not be a prick but the people around him don't want him in new orleans. monty/demps won't chnge his mind. what will they tell him? theyre going to sign Carmelo? please.
