That’s a good one.

Brogdon could also be someone that’s available with versatility. If the Pacers miss the playoffs or have an early exit, and it seems like they are moving in a different direction then they might be sellers.

we need as many 2/3 that can shoot and preferrably rebound.

MPJ is the dream fit.

Saddiq Bey would be nice

Jerami Grant for sure. Pistons and Grant would have to decide they want fuller rebuild and sell high, while Grant gets to a more playoff contending situation.

I think Griff's highest offer could be Bledsoe, NAW, Pels 1st this year and 2 other future firsts, and 2nds. Not sure that's enough for Detroit to trade him.

SF/PF/C Versatility, Defense, high level scoring. He'd be an awesome fit.

I think we should forget about acquiring "stars." They're mostly assholes who want to be in big markets.

We've got our star in Zion.

We need the Spurs model.

International talent built around your star.

That's what Langdon's specialty is supposed to be - finding international talent.

Intl guys seem to be fine in smaller markets. Instead of looking for some disgruntled choad like Kyrie/Harden, we should be looking for the next Manu and Parker.

Harrison Barnes would also help for a short term option.

True, but it makes you wonder what the thought process was in our front office if they truly considered Zion to be a future playmaker/facilitator....then why overpay for a guy like Steven Adams and offer an extension as well.

Siakam is not as good as people think he is

Which is why I brought him up, he's off the radar, wouldn't command a treasure chest of assets, and maybe he comes back to 2019 form being the 3rd/4th option.
As someone who only watches the pels, how does he fit our team as a defensively mobile big/wing?

Siakam has an albatross of a contract, and I don’t think both him and Ingram having 30 mil dollar contracts for the next 4-5 years is a good thing.

Sabonis and Beal seem to be the most likely targets to any team looking for a prime age all star. In a couple years I could potentially see Gilgeous-Alexander being someone who OKC moves if the tank isn't ready to pay a max player yet.

If we're looking for our Robert Covington style move then I like Larry Nance Jr. Not a max guy but can fit multiple roles and I think would be a fit for us.

What about say 2 years from now a slightly over the hill, possibly overpaid star not wanting to be where he is in 2021. Or his team is looking to blow it up and start over. What if GSW blows it up for 2023 and looks to restart things. If by then Zion is a 1st team all NBA and BI is a perennial all star. If there is no other prime age all star why not pay less for a star looking to win another title, like Steph Curry?

Sorry, edit to realize my dumbass never wrote curry's name...

Paul George as early as this year if he has another Classic Playoff P performance.

On paper, he would fit great. Good multi positional defender and can shoot the face off the ball when hot. Also another guy who can initiate his own offense if need be.

Obviously, it's hard to know right now which teams are going to blow it all up.

I really think that the Pacers do, though, so Brodgon and Sabonis are definitely high on my list.

I 100% believe that we are trading for a player of their caliber this summer. We can't keep pushing back all our picks. Zion has entered a new era of his development, and it's time to give him the pieces needed to succeed at a high level.

We have both Bledsoe's and Adams' contract to use without dipping into our young core, and I don't see any way that Bledsoe is back next season. If we don't use one or both of their salaries now to get that 3rd star, then we're going to be stuck later using the salary of someone who we really want to keep.

I’m not so sure we need another “star” player to make this team a contender as much as we need one more solid shooting/defense backcourt player and one shooting/defense F/C type. Beyond that we just need our own guys to continue progressing and to be more consistent on the defensive end of the floor. This is why I think Hart is more of a priority to bring back than Ball. Naji has done well trying to fill that energy role but Josh Hart is perfect 6th man that can guard everyone but the center. I wish we still had Mirotic to see how he would play with Zion.

3 guys come to mind:

Trae Young (yes that sounds crazy at first but I don't trust Atlanta to remain consistent - that being said I'd try to get Bogie this offseason)

Domantas Sabonis - already said I know but that could get interesting

Third one is not necessarily a star but if the Pistons continue to suck - Jerami Grant

There are a few teams who if they decide they can’t compete for a ring may look to go young (LAC, PHI, POR, UTA, DEN, GS, WAS, LAL, PHX etc)

frick it, Steph Curry. If Klay comes back next year, they’re healthy all year & still lose in the 1st round, maybe they blow it up.

Most likely MPJ tho. And I’d be fine with that.

We don’t need another star. We need a player who we can consistently rely on to get 18-20ppg. Thing about Lonzo is that we can rely on him to score because his offensive game is limited. If Lonzo not hitting threes, he’s a black hole on offense. I really like the idea of Brogdon. A Pro’s pro, great leader, he’s a guard with size that can play on and off the ball. And he’s only 27 (young vet).

He has two more years on his contract at 21 mil and 22 mil. Which is actually around the same kind of money Lonzo will get, and we all agree we’d rather have Brogdon at that money line. He’s 6’5 so he has good size and his contract ends right around Kira’s rookie deal ends. If Kira has become a great guard, we won’t have to extend Brogdon any further. He’s also a 50-40-90 guy... if he becomes available you go get him.

He’ll help mightily with shooting and he’d let us focus on defense in the draft (if our pick isn’t in the deal). Someone like Scottie Barnes. Not really an offensive guy, but can guard 1-5 on defense. You can get shooting anywhere in the draft. Look at Bane, Prichard, Grayson Allen, etc.
