Thank you come again.

I don't know. That's the only post from you I've ever read. I don't know you.

I've seen it argued by others though.

Well that splashes a bit of cold water on things.

That's in line with most of this boards expectations and the reason Oden will only get $3 million.

If he can up his playing time over the season, then everyone will be praising Demps if the 2nd year team option is included.

not in my opinion. Oden will be a great player in his limited minutes he's played. Its money well spent. He also has a fantastic shot for being a big man.

I really meant that for other people. I know what I expect out of Oden: not much.

If he can contribute at all that is a major plus, so I'm fine with it.

Anyone who is expecting him to start and play 25 minutes a game is a lunatic.

No, you're asking me a loaded question. I will not justify it with a response.

If his health continues in a positive manner, i don't think its completely unrealistic by the end of the season...dare i say POST SEASON.

What don't people get about that?

There is an information vacuum about Oden and people are filling it with best case scenarios. Remember when we thought this had to be done as a S&T involving Jason Smith? I was only ok with that because if Demps was ok with that it had to mean Oden was in good shape. Once facts start coming out things started looking different.

1) We are doing this with basically found money, an exception we thought we had used on Stiemsma.
2) Oden isn't even cleared to play 5 on 5 yet, you have to lower your expectations of where Oden is and will be.

A player option on a guy that still may never play in the league again would be irresponsible. I'd be surprised if Demps does that and if he does it's because he has access to more information than we have. Based on the information we as fans have access to, a player option shouldn't even be part of the conversation.

What don't people get about that? Roster spots are precious. They have to serve a purpose.

We just gave Morrow a 2nd year player option...

(now lets hear how amazing Morrow is gonna be lol)

So you are basing his improvement on having surgery in February of 2012 and still not being cleared for 5 on 5 action? That's quite an interesting projection, from zero to zero in 18 months and then zero to 75% of starters minutes just 6 months.

Okay, you win the internet. Run and tell your parents. They may bring you for celebratory ice cream.

Oden is not the first player in the history of the world to come back from microfracture. I don't even give a frick what it was, he's been getting healthy, teams are liking what they are seeing.

I didn't project anything, i used the term " i don't think it's completely unrealistic".....

So you are saying its completely unrealistic for him to play 25 min per game at any point in the season?

Morrow is on a minimum deal and is the equivalent of the type of player we would replace him with anyway next year. The risk there is a new injury preventing him from playing next year, which is a relatively low risk. The risk profile of a guy that hasn't played since 2009 is quite a bit different.

Consistently, yes. He may be able to do it once or twice, but he will not play 25 minutes with any consistency. Book it.

So is his impact, ceiling, influence on a game with limited minutes, our desperation for a player at this position etc.
