re: Now we have a better chance at Brogdon

38% vs 36%, but if you just look at the per game averages, Ryno for his career takes the same amount of 3’s as Niko, and makes just 1 more than Niko every 10 games. Their “games” aren’t necessarily the same, but Niko is just as much of a shooter that Ryno is.

He also has more handle and quickness and the ability to get to the rim. I mean he’s not going to raise up on someone but he can get there much more effectively than Ryno. Also much more versatile defensively.

If we make the trade with the Knicks, which seems most likely, that gives us a possible back court of Barrett and Holiday (Barrett sees himself in the style of Harden). So what is the better combination? A 1-3 line up that combines Brogdon/Holiday/Barrett or we grab a RFA like Oubre and go with something like Barrett/Holiday/Oubre?
So Brogdon or Oubre?

Why are the Knicks the most realistic?
Knicks is a full on youth movement. Think jrue wants to just be him with guys 22 and younger?

The difference between Niko and Ryno isn’t so much their shooting, it’s the defense. Niko plays it.

He’s streaky yes, but opposing defenses respect the hell out of him. He opens things up for everyone on the court. The reason why he was quiet in the Golden State was because they saw what he did in the Portland series. Also, we played a must win game in Oakland late in the year where Niko went off for 30 plus as well. They knew he could swing a game or two and even potentially the series if they didn’t pay extra attention to him so they stuck Iggy on him that series. And honestly that is a positive because Iggy is probably their 2nd best defender. If you have a team with enough firepower, that can ultimately be an issue for Golden State if you have to have Iggy follow Mirotic around all game. Niko checks all the boxes for me. He can win you games you aren’t supposed to win if he catches fire and his overall play here was a net positive even on his 2-10 three point nights. That’s worth 15m a year to me all day long. It just didn’t work out for him 100% in Milwaukee, but let’s not forget and/or marginalize what he did night in and out in Uncle Al’s system.

quote:
Brogdon 4 year 60 million
Nico 3 year 36 million
This would be perfect scenario for Bucks. Not possible.
Start from 4/80 and 3/45

Id go 4/72
18 mil a year might do it
That sounds about right for niko

Yes to 15-18 mil for Brogdon but 10-12 a year for Niko.

Let’s offer them a Morris Twin type deal. Tell them we have 32m a year for them and they can decide who gets what.

Brogdon is going to get his 20+, probably from the bucks.
they will make no effort on mirotic (they can’t and they shouldn’t), so if you want him you can have him. I think 15 is reasonable as long as there’s not a better option...in a vacuum I think I’d rather eat a contract and get a pick assuming Davis is gone
I know we want to get back into team building mode but we need to acknowledge that if Davis is traded the team is not going to be a winner next year. They should be arming themselves for the wars to come

I highly doubt that they will give Brogdon 20+ when they just paid Bledsoe and want to resign Middleton and Lopez. Plus, they have George Hill for another year.
Posted on 5/27/19 at 1:48 pm to Mad Scientist26
I think Hill is only partially guaranteed and they can buy him out (save them like 15M)..
Posted on 5/27/19 at 2:03 pm to Mad Scientist26
they do not have bird rights on Lopez and hill is only gtd 1MM next year.
they can and they will max Middleton and match or max any offer for brogdon
it’s tony snell clogging up their plumbing not hill

I doubt they will max Middleton, pay Lopez (which they said they will) and also pay Brogdon 17+. Not when they are already paying Bledsoe 17.5, have Hill on a cheap deal, and have to pay Greek Freak.
Posted on 5/27/19 at 3:29 pm to Mad Scientist26
they only have hill on a cheap deal if they waive him
Jesus dude do a minor bit of research

He would likely be 3rd or 4thscoring option on our team but efficient and one of our most valuable defensive assets. Stop forgetting that defensive versatility is super important in today’s nba
