Per a league source, #Hornets don't plan on extending a qualifying offer to Frank Kaminsky, which will make him an unrestricted free agent. Hornets don't have much cap space and currently have a logjam on their frontline after last week's draft.

JFC
this is the guy MJ passed on 4 #1 picks from BOS for.
its time...michael jordan has been a league- worst team executive from his 1st day in WAS thru this current CHA disaster

I wonder how much Kaminsky will command on the market. Wouldn’t be a horrible fallback option if we miss on others

Thats actually a good idea. They have to spend the money. Take a chance for 1 year and see if something hits in his 2nd year back from the injury.

They have to put a product on the floor. Cap room wont be an issue. You see how he fits in the locker room. If he turns back into his old self, then possibly look to bring him back.

For perspective, Kaminsky was the 9th overall in 2015.

The picks Boston was offering were 15 and 16 in 2015, an unprotected future Nets pick (Sexton or Fultz), and their choice of a future first from the Wolves and Grizzlies.

15 was Kelly Oubre Jr and 16 was Terry Rozier.

It doesn’t say which Nets pick but Boston won the lottery with Fultz and traded down to get Jason Tatum in 2017 and that 2018 pick became Collin Sexton (8th overall).

I can’t find a record of Boston having a pick from the Wolves, but that Memphis pick is still floating out there and likely won’t convey until 2020.

oubre, rozier, fultz/sexton and the MEM pick sounds a whole lot better than 4 wasted years of frank kaminsky.

that pick that BOS wanted would have been for justise winslow...even he would have been the better choice

Thunder center Nerlens Noel will not pick up his $1.9M player option for 2019-20 season and will be a free agent, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium. Noel and Thunder will discuss potential reunion, but several other teams are expected to express interest.

Sean Deveney was just on the radio and mentioned Looney as a guy the Pels were interested in.

I don’t see Noel returning unless OKC can shed some salaries.

They signed him at the league minimum and have no Bird rights on him, so they would either need to throw an exception like the MLE at him or find a taker for someone like Steven Adams and hope Noel is a cheaper alternative.

They are $16m into the luxury tax right now and their bill, as of today, would be about $50m.

Paying Noel about $5m or so probably raises their tax bill by an additional $10-15m.

He IS a Klutch client, I believe, but I think he has to be chasing dollars considering how much he pissed away by turning down the Dallas offer. IIRC, it was in the neighborhood of 4 years $80m.

Since then he has played for the qualifying offer for a season and signed a minimum deal for two seasons, one of which was a player option he used to get out of the contract.

Consider the source, but Stephen A Smith says that KD and Kyrie to Brooklyn is a done deal.

If so, that causes a lot of dominoes to fall, such as Dlo getting renounced.

Rumors are that the Suns and Wolves will be trying to make offers on him. Possibly the Celtics too.

That's not too surprising. Knows Gentry's offense and is a great, versatile defender. Also a high character gritty guy.

I really want to see them go after Kyle O'Quinn though. Better rebounder, better FT shooter, better rim protector. He doesn't space to the perimeter, but he shoots really well on long 2's.

i don't doubt it's likely that's what ends up happening, but absolutely no one knows what Durant is going to do. He probably doesn't even know yet.
Forgot who it was on NBA radio today with Greenberg and Heyward, but they said there's no way anyone has any earthly idea what Kevin Durant is doing, or even leaning towards.
