Im guessing he skipped out on this years playoffs where Kawhi actually won a title and improved his argument for best player 10 fold in the process.

“But the Warriors were injured...”, sayeth everyone who didn’t watch the Raptors beat teams like the Bucks on their way to the title. Or go 2-0 against the Warriors during the regular season.

KD went to the super team and still had disgruntled stars disgruntled over who should get most of the credit.

KD is also an emotional lesbian who didn’t realize that walking into a team with the MVP already on it kind of puts you at second banana to start with. If that.

Carter was making the case for why Kawhi should choose the Lakers. He wasn't making a prediction in that bit.

KL has already supposedly addressed in past not wanting to be a part of such thing.

His logic was terrible to boot.

It’s about championships, so leave the team that just won a championship over Lebron’s daddy and join a lottery team.

WTF?

The thing that he said the Lakers could give him is what Toronto already has. Thats why his point is stupid.

There is no guarantee that he wins another next year with that same Raptors team.

IF championships are all that matters, yeah, he goes to the Lakers.

I just hope that isn't the case, and I also hope that his low-key discussions with Durant made it clear that you won't find as much personal satisfaction or accolades cheat-coding your way to those rings by signing onto a super team.

Something Lebron himself also struggled with that it seemed he didn't fuly get over until winning in Cleveland. That a legacy as a titan slayer will be far more impactful than the guy that cruised through his peak years the laziest way possible.

Guarantee? No.

But he will have an actual supporting cast in Toronto as well as an organization that lets him manage his playing time to keep him healthy for the playoffs.

The Lakers? They don't even have a starting five right now, they don't have any way to fill the roster this season outside of veteran minimums if they sign him, and the front office is a complete and utter shite show.

While Toronto can't guarantee a title, I think the Lakers would be hard pressed to even make the finals considering they would require heavy usage of two players with injury histories plus an aging LeBron.

Exactly. Hence the reason I say these people are incentivized to make such comments.

I think we can all agree this is NOT about KL's Legacy -- this is 100% about Lebron. He has NO intentions of "passing the torch". This dude is thinking "an arm's length" of Kobe and then Michael. We all know a championship with that team would be all about Lebron's 4th and not KL's 3rd.

KL can build his own legacy over the next 2 seasons in Toronto where they will be the favorites. (AND surpass Lebron)

Raps fans in RealGM are cracking me up. The plane has landed in San Diego and is back up in the air headed back to Toronto.

But no one knows for sure if Kawhi was on the plane. Raps fans are hoping that the plane was sent to San Diego to pick up family for an announcement/party tonight. You've got people in there calculating the speed of the plane, trying to figure out which direction it was empty, factoring in the difference caused by the Jet Stream, etc. It's hilarious.

After the tracking he got when he was on the way to Toronto, complete with the OJ tracking of his convoy to the hotel, I figure he's fricking with everyone now by having them track planes while he heads in another direction.

An arms length of Kobe? Like just an arms length away from being as good as him?

Stolen from the MSB who probably stole it from reddit, but the Raptors look like they might be having some sort of presser today.

They can’t officially announce it until July 6 so the press conference can’t be today

I don't think that Raptors "press conference" is anything. They can't officially announce a free-agent signing until tomorrow. And they haven't officially called a press conference for 30 minutes from now.
