Tonight: A New Era of Pelicans Basketball
Doors @ 6pm | Tip-Off Just after 7pm
On the cusp of our home opener, I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am about the journey we are set to embark on together.
We enter the regular season coming off a wildly successful offseason and training camp, capped off by a 5-0 mark in the preseason. Although we didn’t leave Toronto with a win, I was extremely pleased with the way our team competed against the defending NBA Champions. Being courtside to watch the Raptors' ring ceremony will serve as a meaningful experience as we grow our Pelicans family.
We recently introduced the Pelicans new brand campaign "Won't Bow Down" (otherwise known as "WBD"). Won't Bow Down is a testament to the resilience, strength and unity of our city, our fans, and our team in the face of adversity. Won't Bow Down is about proving people wrong.
Won't Bow Down isn't just the story of the Pelicans ... it's the story of New Orleans. Our team Won't Bow Down because we play for and represent a region and fanbase that never does. That is our promise to you all. You will get everything we have to give. Night after night! In return, I want to make you aware of the role you play for us from here on out. By your actions, by your passionate participation from opening tip to final horn, you will help us build the identity that will embody #WBD. Tonight we get to announce our presence as a city, as region, as a PELICANS FAMILY with authority -- in front of a national TV audience. 17,000-plus of us, fighting for and believing in one a another. We want opponents to know that when they walk into our nest, they are walking into an atmosphere unlike any they have ever experienced before. Make them feel us. Show them we ... #WontBowDown.
See you later,
Griff

Oh shite, I’m late for the CAPS party. I won’t be for the game tonight.
Never forget Mark Cuban paid $25k for a business that has a guy draws cats

If we lose tonight I’m blaming you.

Last time I went to Pelicans game, Etwaun Moore played for the Bulls, as well as Pau Gasol.
Gonna be in the blender tonight to watch the Pels cruise to a 128-124 victory.

You sound like a “die hard Pelicans fan”.
Should we look for you in row 3?

Interesting, David Wesley working the pre game on FSNOLA
Wonder if he just switched roles with Antonio Daniels

Best news of the season. Antonio is a nice guy and knows his stuff but he reminds me of Booger McFarland when it comes to commentating

He's done it one game.

I understand that. But I’ll take David

It’s a little annoying seeing Boston is able shut down both Siakam and VanVleet right now.

Van Fleet's a good player, but yeah, no excuse for him getting a career high on our perimeter defenders. I thought we did a decent job on Siakam, we just couldn't keep him off the boards. Tough to beat a defending champion on ring night, but I think that's gonna be a very mediocre team this year.

Raptors aren’t a good team
