There was a time when Jason Kidd was considered the worst shooter ever!!!!
Statistically he was. In fact, whenever a shooter has a sub 40/30/80 season, they term it a Jason Kidd.
Now Kidd is one of the better spot-up 3 point shooters in the league.
Things change.
Although I hope Rivers develops quicker than Kidd...he is already much smarter.
Everything you said was true, but Kidd was also a dynamic player despite being a poor 3 pointer shooter. He was co-ROY and a top 5 player in the league 6-7 years in. He became as spot up shooter late in his career. Otherwise, he developed just fine.

Rivers number compare to kemba walkers his rookie year, except Austin is shooting the 3 better and kemba shot the ball more, and Kemba's 2nd year is pretty good right now, that's just one comparison

Dude puts up more 1 hand floaters than anyone else I've ever seen. I mean other than me, but hey I got that in my game.

Watch Rivers go 2 of 14 with 3 assists and 4 turnovers.

he should be less focused on producing a counterpoint article.

Kidd is one of the smartest players to ever play. It certainly wasn't his athleticism that led to become one the greatest PGs of all time.

I don't think we need to jump to conclusions, especially when he has played much better in his last half of games than he did in his first. I am as skeptical as any, but I have been encouraged by his recent play.

0 points on 0 shots, 0 assists, 0 rebounds, 0 blocks, 0 turnovers in 9 first half minutes. Let's see if he can keep up that pace in the 2nd half!

I am fairly sure that the article has a huge caveat like "worst season of all time for a player averaging more than 25 minutes per game" or something like that.
I have never been a huge fan of Rivers, but if you look at non-usage related stats, his efficiency numbers are very similar to Bradley Beal's. Not too far off from even Dion Waiters, either.
