Fontecchio is actually kinda decent. Detroit just needs competent players

Wasn't Kevin Knox floated on this board as a good piece to get in a Toni Davis trade?

The Memphis Grizzlies are trading F/C Xavier Tillman to the Boston Celtics for two second-round picks, sources tell ESPN.

A few smaller trades starting to trickle out involving 2nds and so on.

If Memphis is trading Tillman, then we should trade Naji. Tillman is Memphis' naji marshall. 2-way guy that earned a contract but is now expiring. Boston gave up some decent 2nds too

MIL, PHO, and BOS were the most likely spots for Naji IMO, so we still have 2 chances.

I'm for trading Naji for whatever we can get, but I do wonder if Griff would be concerned with a locker room issue given Naji's popularity in it

I like Tillman as a backup big. That's a good move for Boston.

You gotta be cutthroat in this league. If Naji Marshall is the thread holding our locker room together then god help us

while i completely agree with this, do you really care about getting 2 2nds for Naji? Is that really more helpful to us than simply keeping Naji?
We gonna trade Naji to get 2 2nds now, then try to use those 2 2nds to pick up a player at next years deadline equally as good as Naji?

Yes. Naji doesn't help us in any meaningful way. His minutes going to Hawkins can help us in the long term.

Naji wont be here next deadline anyway so if you need to add someone like him then you have the ammo to do so

Griff needs to do with Naji what he did with Graham. Willie just cannot help himself.

Doesn't have to be next year's deadline.

2 things here. One being we have too many dudes right now who can play in a rotation on this team, so that is why Naji can and should be traded. We have a cap crunch coming in the next 2 years, so 2+ years out, we may have a shortage on dudes who we need in a rotation.

Naji won't be here in 2 years, so why wouldn't you try to get those 2nds that you can use down the road when you actually do need the next Naji type dude?

Right

Naji is gone, he's going to get paid. But we can use the potential 2 2nds we get for him to add the next cheaper dude that we can afford in the coming years.

Unless were finally going into the tax who is playing Center and who is Murray replacing in the starting lineup?

I like Murray but I really wonder at what cost at this point

There's only one way I see Murray working but I don't see Griff doing it.

You use the Jonas salary and whatever else to get Murray. You punt on center the rest of this season, which shouldn't matter THAT much because we're not a contender this season. But also, not every team has at least an avg dude at each position, it's not that uncommon to have a position you suck at while strong everywhere.

But then in the offseason, you know the BI max is coming and will make him a negative contract, so you use BI to trade for your next center.

If that's the plan, I get it. If Griff has no plans to get rid of BI and/or add that center with BI's value, then I don't get trading for Murray.
