My predictions-insights

I have been quiet the past week or so letting everything get soaked in. I must say, the picks given up from the Lakers to the Pelicans was unexpected by most.

Griffin wanted the Celtics deal BAD - as I mentioned. I was really hoping for this trade, but I am very happy with the outcome.
I also stated that the Celtics were refusing to include Tatum (before any such news leaked) which many thought I was crazy...

Let’s move on -
Chatter has been out of the roof. Idt anyone knows what Griffin has planned other than the close inside group. I also do believe that Griffin does not even know what he will do yet(let me elaborate on this).

Griff has had alotttt of work put on his plate since being hired. Most on short notice. With Langdon being his right hand man, his job becomes much more tolerable, as we can assume.

Based on the chatter I have heard, this is what I predict as being played out.
I will simplify it as percentages (these are mine based on what I hear). I prefer to answer questions individually rather than write every single detail. I have been soaking everything in for two weeks now and have heard many different things.

Chances/percentages
Chances the Pelicans trade the 4th pick - 70%
Chances the Pelicans keep the pick-30%
Chances the Pelicans draft Garland at #4 - 90%
Chances the Pelicans trade Garland at a later date if we infact draft him- 90%
Chances we keep him if we draft him - 10%
Chances we get a player such as Blake Griffin or Kevin Love in a three team deal either now or in upcoming weeks - 60%
Chances that the “board” will hate the trade we make if it’s made - 90%
Chances anyone in the NBA gets the number two pick - 0%
Chance anyone in the NBA gets the number 3 pick-25% (if knicks do give up this pick, it will be a massive 3 or 4 team trade WITH the Pelicans taking part WITHOUT the Pelicans moving up to third.)

Most of this is not breaking news, aside from a few bits... I am simply taking what people are saying (minus the Blake Griffin deal, which I think is very possible) and putting it into context on what I believe is true or what would happen.

Notes:
Pelicans value Garland but not like other teams. They would trade him in a heart beat.
Pelicans being interested in RJB is true.. they would love to pair him with Zion, but it’s not happening unless Knicks have change of heart and take Garland or White.
If there is any player the Pelicans want at the 4th spot, it’s RJB.
Many believe Culver may fall to 6-9, which could be a trade back spot. He would be our pick if we trade here.
As of now, Pelicans view Okafor as a “valuable asset”. Griffin loves him.
The infatuation with Kevin Love is real... but many believe that he may not buy into this “culture change”. Love would love (see what I did there) to finish his career in LA, and that’s where his sites are set. This alone is holding griffin back for now.
I expect the Pelicans to make a hefty pitch to Mirotic and offer him a contract some will not like. It’s either us or Bucks IMO.
Pelicans would give up #4, ball or Ingram, future unprotected first, fillers for Beal. We are reluctant to include both Ingram and Ball. Wizards want both Ball and Ingram. Beal could be ours tonight if we included both. Wizards would not include their 2019 pick in any trade with Beal no matter what. This was the stopping point.
