Brown v BI is very interesting
BI has ball handling and playmaking
Brown has defense and three point shooting
Overall super equal I would have thought
I'll take BI, because it's Kingram and I think he has the higher ceiling

If you look at their last 3 seasons (essentially when both of them took on a bigger role), they are very similar statistically.

I think Browns defense is a bit overrated, and BI’s defense a bit underrated really.
That being said, BI being more of an offensive hub, and having three years on his contract as compared to Brown with two is what would make him more attractive to me as Brooklyn.

On the other side of the argument is that Brown isn't on a designated player contract, so they could trade for him and keep Simmons. They can't have both BI and Simmons.

Yeah, we waited it out on Ingram, making him not considered designated extension. Nets could take Ingram and keep Simmons.

But they can’t because as stated multiple times INGRAM IS NOT ON THE TABLE IN A TRADE.

True story, I keep forgetting about the extension vs signed as RFA caveat in the designated player label.

It's sad that you believe this. Every player is available for the right cost. Every year we hear similar talk and the guy is moved a day or two later..

you are TDgm. are you ok with this season as " maybe win a play in game or two before then dealing with a home team with a super star.
here's the deal. This team needs to grow together. Trey and Herb are going to improve, and we now haver Zion. I don't want to trade the one guy who was loyal AF for a guy who prolly doesn't wanna be here, and is on the back side of 30.
Let the damn team grow organically. We have young players that will improve, a legitimate star in BI, a potential star in Zion, and a great Robin in CJ. We have a ton of draft capital to continue to add to that and supplement our talent with young guys if we evaluate right, or to go get that missing piece. Moving BI to get a potential malcontent is fricking dumb, and it would devastate me as a fan.

Moving ingram would be like toronto moving derozan. that is the closest you'd get to an ingram trade (when it comes to what it means for a city/team)
We would REALLY have to win or you're risking a lot

I'm not saying to move Ingram. Its just an interesting concept and worth discussing. Some keep trying to kill all talk and insist there are certain untouchable players. That's just not true.
The longest current tenured Pelican is Zion, about to start his 4th year. The longest tenure in our history is West at 8 seasons. Players come and go. It's a transient league and there is no loyalty (from either side).
Yet people get all attached and imagine these romantic connections to particular players that don't exist. Every player is movable and the vast majority are traded, some many times. Its the nature of the game..

Have you listened to one David Griffin interview over the past 3 years regarding Brandon Ingram? He is not on the block. Never was. Never will be. And Especially not for trash arse 34 year old cancer Durant.
D Griffin would not do the trade straight up or if Brooklyn added picks. And that’s the “honest truth”.

Griffin is a liar. You have to be in his spot. He is trying to keep the peace and keep harmony on the team, but he has has to do his due diligence and make overtures.

I didn't say he was. Doesn't mean there haven't been conversations and people can't speculate.
If Giannis got pissed and demanded off the Bucks all of a sudden and wanted to go to the Pelicans, would anybody be truly off limits?
It's all hypotheticals. But people get upset for no reason.

It's all very fluid. But this is silly. I also question your team loyalty if this is what you believe. Adding Durant makes us a title contender especially for just picks. Why wouldn't any fan want that?
Posted on 8/12/22 at 8:35 am to brmark70816
Because frick Durant. If he's doing this to a team like Brooklyn (who has bent over backwards for him and Kyrie), who's to say he doesn't do it to the next team that he goes to a year down the road? You want to give up significant trade capital and a young all-star level player for a clown who is going to come here and run the show (and make shitty decisions at that)? Griff isn't going to sign off on that, he already stated that it wasn't really fun when LeBron went back to Cleveland.

He just might. Or maybe it's a bad situation and he wants to get out. I'm sure they would have assurances if they made a move for him. I believe we are being used to drive up the price. But it's interesting to talk about and adding a top 3-5 player for a borderline top 20 and some spare parts is tempting.

Someone here is talking with Brooklyn. Are they doing it without Griffins knowledge or permission? Are all the media sources lying? Please give me the scoop..
