We all know he's an athletic freak, even if he doesn't like quite as spry as he did at Duke.

What I can't get over is how soft his touch is around the basket. I've never seen anything like it to be honest.

The ball is just so soft coming off his hands. He gets almost every roll.

When he misses I'm actually surprised.

Last year he got a lot of shots blocked but he's adapted and somehow can sneak it in, under and over taller players.

I don't think that's a skill that's taught. Some guys just have an innate ability to get the ball up softly, kind of like a QB who can take off the mustard and throw the perfect screen.

It's incredible to watch.

Every time he goes up into 4 defenders I think "Nah, can't finish that" and then it just goes in. It is amazing.

Can you imagine how good he'll be if he ever learns to pump fake?

It's like the easiest move in basketball and I don't think I've ever seen him do it.

He's getting a little better using his pivot foot, but he should watch tape of Kevin McHale this summer and Olajuwon. He would be unstoppable.

His % on layups is the most amazing thing I've ever seen. I'm right there with you.

Early on, it was his second jump that astonished me. There would be at least one time a game, he'd get up and get aput back and my brain would know where he was, and then assume someone else got the put back....then I'd look at the number and be like...wait what?

Now it's the ungodly fg % just like you say. It really helps you have Lonzo and Bled who throw up layups that they think themselves, probably has no shot. Zion gets into air, almost without a plan, figures it out in mid flight, adjusts and makes an impossible layup...over and over and over. It's truly insane, he has endless potential if his body lasts.

The offensive talent is unreal and he really may only be scratching the surface. He still only really goes left and usually uses the spin move. I'm not even sure if he's developed much of a counter for it yet but he hasn't needed one yet.

As impressive as his finishing is every game, I was so excited about the pass he made in transition for the JJ 3 in the 4th last night. He went quickly, but very controlled, up the floor, saw he had a 3 on 2, let the defenders take their positions and then decided where the best place to get the ball to was. All the while not rushing or being fancy with the ball like many youngsters try to do.

He probably still hadn’t fully recovered from the injury. There is a difference from be fully healed to fully recovered. I think there is a he has gotten noticeably more athletic from last year. Not Duke level but I think that has more to do with the added weight than his losing athleticism. Go look at his body at Duke vs now. He has gained a lot of muscle since then

He already has some kyrie like moves at the basket.

Crazy that he is just a itty baby and still growing

I just love zion when he is smiling and killing people

One of the small things that I miss now that we have Point Zion (instead of Post-Up Zion) -- we don't get as many 2nd jumps now, because on those rare times that he drives and misses, he's not in position to get the rebound.

His overall speed. How fast he went the length of the court at the end of the half was crazy.

He looked like he was playing with a little attitude vs the Pistons

And he has that touch and grace around the rim with both hands.

Tonight he drove to his right and was about to dunk with the right/off hand but instead adjusted and scooped it for the finger roll while displaying great body control...all with the ball in his off hand.

yep. if/when he has a traditional outside shot and an upfake he will be first team all nba.
and if he later learns mid range shooting he will be in the wilt, mj, Larry, elgin baylor pantheon of all time great offensive players.

it appears for now that the Duke INCREDIBLE defender isnt happening. if it ever does he will still make first team all nba without the complete outside game.

I wonder if people realize now why he doesn’t need a jump shot

He doesn’t need a mid range but he does need to be a threat from 3
