Celtics added 3 non extremely elite players in Porzingis, Jrue, and White...
Porzingas was a number one with NY, Jrue was always a number one or two with us. Or Griff tried to force him to be a number one that one year, and White was probably the 2nd best player on the Spurs when he wa traded. That’s a lot of talent behind two real Alpha players, so of course it worked out good for them.

You couldn't pay me to follow that clown.
Isn't his "source" someone that is high up at Tobasco? Like wow, insider stuff right there.

I’m not sure where this “paying Claxton $20m+” is coming from. From what I can tell, he’s more in the 15-16 starting range that can get up to 20m by year 3 or 4. With the new cap, that’s perfectly acceptable for a starting 5.
Claxton isn’t my favorite fit, but he’s definitely checks a lot of boxes. I also believe he still has some offensive upside that he hasn’t tapped into yet.
I might be the biggest Dyson Stan on this board, but I would understand if they move him. Get Claxton at 4/70, add a another big that can stretch the floor a little bit and play with Zion or Claxton (like Wendell Carter), and I think we couldn’t do much better upgrading our bigs this offseason.

Most of these guys were linked to aren’t difference makers

Boston was in the Finals 2 years ago and Stevens still completely overhauled the supporting cast around Tatum and Brown. Those 3 dudes I named were there for the taking and fairly cheap for virtually any team. Only 1 team stepped up.
So to reiterate, you can get important role players via trade, every season basically.

I'm not giving celts all the flowers ever for this title.
Could a fully healthy 2023-2024 Pels team go on this run?
Beat the heat with no Jimmy (yes)
Cleveland with injured Mitchell and Allen (yes)
Pacers with no Haliburton (yes)
Yeah the celtics were the best team in the league, but a lot of teams would've cake walked to a finals with that playoff run.

As long as Lance is gone. Nothing against him personally but WG runs terrible lineups with him in it for far too long

I hate giving up Dyson. He’s one of the best on ball defenders I’ve seen in a while.

I would be extremely pissed off if we traded Dyson so we can sign Claxton.
This ×1000.
Trading a young DD for an average starting center would be such a Pels thing to do. I think we just saw in the finals how having two elite defenders on the wing can take a team from contender to champions. Keep DD and let's develop him.

If we get Claxton where goes that leave us with Jonas? Does he stay and see a reduced role like the 2nd half of this season?

Somebody said his house is up for sale - so does that answer your question?

Playing 3 playoff teams without their star players healthy and our guys healthy and thinking they can make a finals run is just offseason talk man. I like how the pels match up against those teams without their star players. Most here would.

Lol no they wouldn't.

If they are giving up Dyson then they are probably trading BI for anther guard. There may not be minutes for Dyson anyways. He is great at defense, but he still needs to really develop his offensive game.
