And which team had more ammo to get better?
Griff got fricking smoked by Pelinka.
Lakers dump the worst contract in the league. Get off Tucker.
Add Russell, Schroeder, Beasley, Hachimura.
We get Richardson.

Lakers we’re gifted those dudes for nothing, Pels don’t get that luxury

Can't trade guys like Jaxson, Naji, etc because Zion Ingram and Nance never see the floor

You all acting like we couldn’t have had that deal if we wanted?
Griff was just reportedly too busy trying to pay OG Anonuby half the warchest instead of making some smart moves around the edges like the Lakers to balance out the roster.

Beasley should have been the target

Even going after a guy like Bamba, who might not be great but still has a very attractive ceiling. They basically have nothing for him

I'm not wasting assets to put a bandaid on a roster with so many flaws. Once Zion got hurt again your trade philosophy changed, you go all in if a player like Bridges was available. But you need a whole sale roster change starting with getting a upgrade for Val and shooters.

This is how I see it at this point which is why I'm not as upset about the Lakers lapping us at the deadline and making a decent squad. Lakers will continue to be in win now mode while they have Lebron. After Zion's hamstring injury and our fall off in play it was clear no moves would make this a win now season for us. Let Zion get healthy and make moves this offseason and next trade deadline to finally push the chips in and try to build a contender. If Zion still can't stay healthy by then then all of this is moot anyway. Obviously doesn't change the fact that this stretch has been absolutely miserable to watch though.

It was an expiring so much easier at the deadline to move. But first trade in awhile I’d say Ainge got bent over and that never happens. Guess he was looking at a more long term view.

Which we paid 4 seconds to do, and traded a guy Griff paid a first to get.
Plus, it seems likely that Josh isn’t going to be a Pel next season, so they can stay under the tax…move was likely more about getting flexibility to stay under the cap next season than about improving the team.
And there were option to improve the things the Pels need on the bench…Kennard, Muscala both were moved for a box of popcorn and would fill needs.
