Signing a good player like Dinwiddie wouldn’t make you happy.
Over paying for Dinwiddie would be dumb. For the right price would be nice.
With all that said, Griff was clearly clearing cap space to make a splash, but he's learning what we've known for a long arse time, no big name will come to this franchise by his own free will.

They get Dinwiddie, or even Powell for me, and they won this offseason. But a few more strikeouts and you have to seriously worry about the team’s direction.
Even if they get Dinwiddie, if it is a vast overpay that's not good either.
Frankly, the concern should already be there. We seem to be flying blind right now.
It's clear we didn't have a clearly laid plan when we agreed to let Lonzo walk to clear space and for pennies on the dollar. We hoped to be able to get someone like Spencer but most reports are Washington is choice 1 and we are going to be left chasing Shroeder or guys like Reggie Jackson.

That isn’t me bitching that’s me not understanding fit. I literally said in multiple threads that Dinwiddie is a good player.

Exactly, so we have to overpay to get FAs to come here

There’s no such thing as not overpaying for the Pelicans.
We can either make bargain deals, trade for guys, or overpay. No one comes here for market.

Sorry but that's quite confusing.

You can just say McNamara talked you in to it bunch

Try to keep up: it would depend on the other moves we make. As, again, I’ve said repeatedly.
If our moves Dinwiddie and Satoransky and Temple then we have an issue fit wise.

That wouldn’t be true. I don’t get the fit as the team is currently constructed. He’s a good player. But the fit is odd.

Try to keep up
I mean, what you're asking me to do here is completely illogical.

You've contradicted yourself more times than a politician over these last few months.

Sure there is, and for all his faults Demps was excellent at it at the bottom of rosters(not good at managing or exploiting it though, and terrible when it came to the top of rosters) and good small markets do it all the time.
It's called finding players the market has undervalued and getting them on good deals. Finding your Cam Payne's, Duncan Robinson's, Christian Wood's, Robert Covington's, Spencer Dinwiddie's(before he hit it big).
And if you are going to overpay it needs to be for players that really fit your system so they thrive and can be moved as a neutral or better assets if need be because they perform so well in your system. You want the CP3's not the Adams, Bledsoe's, Posey's, Asik's, Evan's of the world.

Don't start quoting Fun Bunch. Everything he's saying today won't make sense.
You'll assume he's been abducted and someone else is replying from his account.

Dang. I like Gary Trent a lot. 18 per might be a little rich though.

Wait til you see what we're gonna pay for our big acquisition. $18 per year will seem like insane value.
